No abuse, Flying it upside down is a sign of distress. I think we all should fly it that way.

Think of the prodigal...when that son wanted to cash in and leave, the father let him. Sometimes, as much as it seems somehow wrong, we simply have to let people go and spread the light and news to those who are receptive.

Liked your post but want to quible with your parable example. The father in the prodigal son was constantly thinking about his missings son. He was always scanning the horizon for him, and while the son was still far off the father was running out to greet him.

Good thinking— I’ve been working on an Obama voter quite a bit this morning. I told her that I hope he doesn’t royally eff things up, but totally expect he will.

This woman is normally a republican, has bought into the complete villification of Bush, hates the spending that went on the past 8 years, and is really scared of socialized medicine and wonders what kind of idiots would want that. Yeah. Those are the people we have to convince.

"Exactly — Obama supporting family members and “friends” are dead to me, too. They can pound sand, oh, and they should not expect any more loans/gifts, either."

You mean, let them spread their own wealth? "Hey CC, can I borrow some money?" "Sorry, I have to redistribute my wealth elsewhere."

... in 2012 that the only thing Obama will be busy doing is writing his memoirs.

Don’t you mean in 2012 that the only thing AYERS will be busy doing is writing OBAMA’S memoirs.

There is no quibble...the father had to wait for the son to return to Him before He could run out to meet him. Should those in your circle experience a change of heart, BY ALL MEANS welcome them back! But, until then, we have to let them go. Letting them go is not the same thing as them being dead to you, as other posters have suggested. Grace waits for the opportunity to move with forgivness.

My point was that perhaps the Lord will place others in your path that you can have a great impact on. Prayerfully searching for God’s winds and following them is the best way to keep the ship on an even keel.

“We’ll be baaaack..”

Then, tell them that McCain had 700 million fewer voters than Bush in 2004. So our candidate and how he ran was a problem.

Most Democrats don’t know why they voted for Obama. They just knew he wasn’t Bush. I simply questioned people why they voted for Obama and most of them either said “Because he’s one of us”, “because he’s for change” or “because he’s going to cut taxes”. To each of those, I responded “He’s a half Kenyan rich kid who grew up in Hawaii, he’s never experienced generational institutionalized racism”, “Can you elaborate on what that change is?” or “Since when in the hell did anybody in the Democratic party ever cut taxes?”

They usually come to their senses and they figured out what they did.

Actually, that is a good idea. Or I could give him gifts and then take them and hand them out to other members of the family.

Idiots will always be idiots. Waste no time on this person. Do not alienate him; simply leave him alone in his stupidity. My advice to convert and teach comes with the caveat: "cast not pearls before swine, for not knowing their value, they will trample them into the mire"

But there are many out there who voted for Obama out of frustration, hope, political correctness and a variety of other reasons. Even intelligent people make mistakes. These people can be brought into the fold. Pick the best target and spend the next four years teaching the benefits of conservatism with a positive message.

When they ask you what’s so funny, tell them the punchline is coming.

“I know people who, to this day, are PROUD of their votes for klinton. They’re also PROUD of their vote for Hussein.”

Not me. I am not proud. I voted for Klintoon in ‘92. I look back at that time and recognize that I was in the same “belief” mindset as many Obama voters are today. I didn’t know any history, I didn’t question anyone, I didn’t know economics, I didn’t know anything. I was completely ignorant. Some friends tried to warn me (one told me to vote libertarian). I actually had an eeny meeny miney mo moment in the voter booth. It came down to this....maybe our country needs a “change”. I was 26 years old. Funny thing is I really didn’t have anything against President Bush....I just wanted “CHANGE”! SHUDDER.

That night Klintoon won was very strange. I heard the news of his win and I said out loud, “Dear Lord, what have we done”. I couldn’t understand that feeling of dread I felt even though I had voted for him. Talk about early buyer’s remorse.

Today, you can’t believe the absolute pendulum opposite that I am. :D I tell people about my vote for Klintoon as a lesson of “be careful for what you wish for” I got change and I hated it.
