President Obama: How Bad Will It Be?
Special to FreeRepublic ^ | 5 Nov 2008 | John Armor (Congressman Billybob)

Posted on 11/05/2008 7:51:34 AM PST by Congressman Billybob

Let us take two sources – the statements made by Barack Obama as a candidate and the lessons of history – combine them and make some predictions. The results are not pretty.

These three results -- a new World War, a new Great Depression, and permanent damage to the Constitution – are given in decreasing order of damage to the United States. That happens to be the reverse of their odds of happening. Though to me, as a student of the US Constitution, the last item is still critically bad.

Based on his repeated comments about Iran and Pakistan, Obama will coddle our sworn enemy, Iran, and will invade and antagonize our shaky but critical ally, Pakistan. Yes, I know we have done cross-border raids into Pakistan’s lawless border territory. But we have kept those in the lowest possible profile to avoid antagonizing a critical ally whose population is mostly Muslim and who possesses working nuclear weapons.

Either over a nuclear Iran, or as a result of an induced revolt in Pakistan, we are likely to be in a global war with the Muslims within a year of Obama being sworn into office. Pick up any book on the events which lead to World War II, Read the chapter on Neville Chamberlain. Then you will know more than Obama does about geopolitical reality.

Odds of a world war between the civilized nations and the uncivilized ones, 50 percent.

In the last quarter the Gross National Product of the US declined by 0.3 percent. It is a near certainty that the GNP report for the 4th quarter will also show a decline, meaning that we will actually be in a recession. But, as Dr. Thomas Sowell pointed out, it will at that point be a mild recession.

How does Obama propose to deal with this situation? He proposes protectionist foreign trade policies and higher taxes.

What does history teach us? Pick up any book on this history of the Great Depression in the US. Look in the index for taxes, Herbert Hoover, and the Hawley-Smoot Tariff. The policies that Obama says he is going to carry out are the worst choices to make, unless the intention is deliberately turn a mild recession into a bone-rattling, deep depression.

Odds of a new Great Depression as a result of Obama becoming President, 70 percent, though it may take more than a year to become evident to the editors of the NY Times.

Obama has made clear that he will appoint judges, and Justices to the Supreme Court, who will alter their decisions depending on who the parties in the case are. Senator Chuck Shumer, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee which reviews and recommends judicial appointees to the whole Senate, has taken the same position.

Everyone reading this is familiar with the statute of Justice as a woman in a flowing robe. In one hand she holds a sword, because justice represents the power of the state to decide between civil parties and to punish under the criminal law. In her other hand, she raises high a set of scales. These represent the idea that she will decide the case before her on the law and the facts, without fear or favor.

Most importantly, Justice wears a blindfold. This represents the idea that she will NOT decide a case based on who the parties are who appear before her. She will obey the law and follow the facts. No more, no less. Yet Obama has made clear his intention to appoint judges/Justices who will do the opposite.

Not just all judges, but all public officials at all levels, take an oath of office to preserve and defend the Constitution of the United States. That Constitution is, as it says in its text, “the supreme law.” Yet, Obama is committed to appoint judges who will not respect the Constitution, but instead will do whatever they want to do personally.

Odds that judges will be appointed who will wipe their feet on the Constitution, rather than preserve and defend the Constitution, 100 percent. Since judges serve for life, these judges willing to violate their oaths of office will remain on the bench for 30 years or so, far beyond the four years of the Obama Administration.

Millions of lives, billions of dollars, and the very future of the US Constitution are at stake. I hope my predictions prove to be wrong. But with the last one, I am certain with every fiber of my being, that I am correct.

Here is a piece I wrote in 2004 when Sandy Berger was found hiding TOP SECRET SPECIAL CATEGORY documents in his underwear. With that discovery it was clear to me it would be OBVIOUS to everybody. :-) Acutally, NOBODY seems to believe that our government lies to the sheeple whenever they need to hide a lie.

The EXPLANATION: Sandy Berger is covering up Bill Clinton’s GREATEST CRIME (2004)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1175272/posts

There are numerous links to excellent supporting documents in the replies such as “Iraqi Documents Show al-Qaida Ties”

If you’re really interested, read Jayna Davis’ book THE THIRD TERRORIST. Jayna will even answer any email requests. She never bought into the premise that Clinton himself was giving orders to kill the Iraq to OKC ties, but he was, and it should be obvious now, but as I’ve stated before, no one believes the US GOVERNMENT would lie like they have obviously done. What’s interesting to me is how they plant such goof ball conspiracy theories out in the public and the debate rages about silliness when the truth is right in front of anyone who looks.

Not only did the uneducated prodigy of our public school systems vote for this obamination that causes desolation, but church goers did, too. What’s with that?

they didn’t leave carter alone, they won’t leave hussein alone. They kill each other, why wouldn’t they attack the great satan and receive a greater reward in their afterlife? How do we know which sect of Islam hussein o identifies with?

“What upsets me beyond my ability to express it, is that so many people could be so blind to what this ‘enemy-from-within’ plans to do to the very fabric of our Nation...”

I couldn’t agree more. I’d feel better if I had some kind of a plan of action to combat it.

I saw in 0bama's eyes last night as he gave his election speech, that he knows he is in over his head.

I think Russia will make a move, relying on its old tactic of using proxies.

They may hit close to home, instigating trouble South of the Border, via Chavez or the drug cartels.

I have had this discussion several times with other Christians - how could a Christian vote for a man who does not value the sanctity of life, has actually voted for infanticide & stands in direct opposition to other tenents of the Bible? God will ultimately judge, but I think a lot of people will have some explaining to do when Judgement Day arrives.

I am studying Graphic Design to paint and display this point. I call it political theology art. Reaching for the screen to vote, the hands of the voter become covered with the blood of the innocent. Pretty graphic, but hopefully it will get the point across.

I woudln’t be surprised if Obama goes back on drugs and/or has a nervous breakdown. He is not intelligent, has to read from a script, and is just following his “mentors” and string pullers.

You left out "not yet". :)

or has a nervous breakdown

He is very brittle, lacking the ability to laugh at himself or take criticism.

I think we have another Nixon on our hands, and we know how that turned out.

“Republicans beat themselves”

“My guess is that nothing will stick to The One”

“They will blame Bush”

I agree with these points completely, but they leave out something important.

The Media is to blame for this, even more than Obama and the Democrats and the scheming socialist.

I'm not whining. I think conservatives worked hard this year. McCain wasn't the greatest choice, but he came close to winning and we liked his VP pick,

but as weak as he was think about how big the McCain landslide would have been if the Media actually did their job.

We all know that every two years republicans and conservatives battle not just our opponents, or our circumstances, but we fight up a media made hill with the media driven wind at our opponents back. When you consider the presidential races we've won it's amazing we were able to do that well.

This year, again, finding themselves with a candidate of enormous negatives they decided to go as low as it took, and hit new depths.

I think we should shake off as much depression and bitterness as we can and get back to work. (I plan on retaining enough bitterness to enjoy every second of Obama's failures) but we need to distinguish areas where we went wrong from our strategies that were countered by the media's traitorous hand. With internet technology we are better armed today than ever to fight media propaganda, even though we lost, but we need to focus on it fully.

The American Media. The nation's guard-dog who holds us down while the attacker has his way.

I remember that my father, who was in the military stationed in Europe, used to tell me that when I was a child (in the ‘60s). He said the next war would be a racial war, us & the USSR vs China.

He is so infinitely worse than Nixon. Nixon wasn’t a (former) crack and marijuana user, he came from a regular family, he didn’t have his entire past under lock and key, he didn’t attend a racist “hate whitey” “church” run by (former) NOI people, etcetc.

I think Obama is merely a figurehead propped up by various extremists and he will have a very hard time once the waters get rough.

“Peace officer’s mental hold” is what they call it here in the local weekly paper.

The fate of the country rests on the willingness of Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Arlen Specter and John McCain to participate in fillibusters.

I don’t like our odds.
