My first vanity, but I do not care.
The first battle to take back the country from liberal thought and rebuild the conservative coalition is THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE.
Somehow, someway TWENTY PERCENT of so called conservatives voted FOR Obama. NOTHING explains 20 percent of "conservatives" voting for Obama. Stay home? Maybe. But what in the HELL is a real conservative doing voting for the most liberal person in the Senate, and the most Liberal candidate ever?
We conservatives have let the liberals take over the media, the schools and the cultural agenda. Now they have the media and the treasury. It seems 20 percent have even let Obama take over their OWN self identification. It is time to lick wounds, but it is also time to plot the future out of the ashes of the last 4 years.
A new generation of leaders are there. Some may be serving in Iraq right now. The Rush babies are coming of age. The children of Reagan. Jindal, Palin, Cantor, Pence, Ryan and others must seize the moment, and we as conservatives have to take back the country, one small battle at a time.
All I can say is, that God for Rush Limbaugh. I cannot imagine living through the Clinton years and now this without him. I know the list of the others, from Levin to Beck to Hannity...but Rush was the first....and the glue that held together the fabric in the 1990s.
The very first battle that must be waged is to fight the FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. I assure you this may very well be the FIRST move in January. It is the snuffing out of the only beacon we have right now. That cannot be allowed, under any circumstances. That alone is worth radical action. You may regard this election as some kind of end, but the true end will be the removal of dissent.
Be ready. Hell is coming, are you going to fight or are you going to melt?
There is a reason Obama and his surrogates mention Hannity over and over and over.
This must be a line in the sand. If they accomplish this step, conservatism will have truly given itself up for dead.
Why is this important? It is the mechanism, the fabric, the framework, the seed, the light for the NEXT generation of conservatives, and we must surely preserve their chance to undo the damage that has occurred.
I choose to fight, not die. For too long we have let the liberals define us, and take over even the EDUCATION OF OUR CHILDREN.
Are we now going to let them take away our freedom of expression, of thought, of dissent?
If there ever was a time for Conservatives to act like radicals. THIS is the time. THIS is the battle and it is coming. Whether we like it or not.
The Fairness Doctrine must be rebranded. The language of conservatives must change, and we must deny the liberals the self imposed right to define us, our actions and their actions.
It is suppression of dissent, and I will not allow it. Neither should you. As much as we all may want to withdraw for awhile, a dagger is aimed at our hearts.
Someone tough needs to head the RNC.
Any thoughts ? Newt ?
Well they SHOULD loose these kinds of battles, but I no longer have the faith in the system to believe that they WILL. I make no prediction of the outcome. I just dont know anymore. Government controlled political free speech? Now I can see the masses cheering for it.
I’m not as worried as you, my friend, and here’s why. The Fairness Doctrine is in effect at Fox and most of the major networks. The Democratic Networks puts one right-leaning guest next to 2 or 3 lefties. That IS what they mean by fairness. Sean and Laura simply have to do an inservice for Rush and a few others. Let them play their games. The strategy is simply to counter them ever step of the way.
Internet, cable television, and satellite radio will all be controlled. The internet will be the MSM new playground.
Only about 150,000 vote difference in Ohio, ACORN did their job well.
Need something to counter that one before the 2010 elections
Newt's a flip-flopping opportunist. We need some with backbone and conviction. And a monkey wrench to break heads open.
Who then ?
Well, now that the media's favorite republican has lost, you can well bet that the media (and McCain's staff) will be blaming Governor Palin for the loss.
Frankly, I wonder if a lot of the surprise in the media isn't because nobody thought that even with the full weight of the media behind Obama, McCain did as well as he did. I'm sure that most in the media thought McCain would have done worse than Mondale.
But look for the reports that state what a great job McCain did, and it it weren't for those bad, mean-old conservatives (like Governor Palin), McCain might have pulled it off. If only McCain would have nominated Lieberman...
Mark
Executive order. With no way to over-ride it.
Worst casing it, the F.D. would drive the radio talkers to satellite radio and TV. I wonder if the Left would like to see Limbaugh's 20 million per week radio listeners turned into 20 million a night TV viewers. They're already having a fit over Hannity's "media empire".
I was thinking about what technology can be used to overcome the fairness doctrine garbage and I have come up with is internet radio. With the internet increasingly becoming available over the air you would be able to listen to internet radio shows in your own car while driving to and from work or where ever one is going. I am just trying to brainstorm and come up with ideas just in case the worst case scenario happens and this fairness doctrine crap is implemented.
I have also found out about this new HD radio where you can have multiple channels on one radio signal. Each station would be able to broadcast multiple programs from one radio signal. Take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHfPvqA7sJ8 So at worst one radio station would be able to transmit conservative radio on one channel and liberal radio on the other. With all this variety it would be impossible for the libs to justify this fairness doctrine crap!!!!!!!!!!
“...it sure as hell better contain fairness on the traitorous TV stations.”
I’m sure it will contain all the right weasel-words to sound fair. The MSM, et al., will just ignore it. It will only be enforced against conservatives.
What is a Committees of Correspondence. I am sure I should know but am sorry to say that I don’t.
There is no fight.
There are still dems in conservative districts or states that have to worry about going too far.
What needs to be done is to welcome the idea, as long as the newscasts are included in the mix.
Equal reporting per candidate; a pro/con newsteam.
If they share time on the air, they have to pay their own bills as well. IOW, you can get the time, but you have to pay for it.,
That’s some great points. No matter what happens Rush will never be silenced.
In short...
The committees of correspondence were bodies organized by the local governments of the Thirteen Colonies during the American Revolution for the purposes of coordinating written communication outside of the colony. These served an important role in the Revolution, by disseminating the colonial interpretation of British actions between the colonies and to foreign governments. The committees of correspondence rallied opposition on common causes and established plans for collective action, and so the group of committees was the beginning of what later became a formal political union among the colonies.
In other words, the original Patriots, fighting to throw off the yoke of tyranny and oppression, needed a way to communicate and plan their actions. Committees of Correspondence were the the mechanism they set up to communicate.
Things have changed since the fairness doctrine was last in effect. I get Rush’s podcast on my thumbdrive and I plug it into my car radio and presto! Instant Rush! Since the fairness doctrine only applies to radio, I won’t be forced to listen to the Soviet response that follows.
It will be up to us to use their tools against them by filing lawsuit after lawsuit under the “fairness doctrine” to force the MSM to include conservative voices AND PAY MOUNTING LEGAL EXPENSES.
Better still, have a real “come to Jesus” meeting with the Republican Senators and talk about how to execute and support a sustained filibuster.
