You know that 2 year supply that the mormons used to teach.

Stock up....to include ammo and the things that make them go bang.

A socialist makes a country communist by causing a crisis and a revolution.

There is yet a remnant, though.

I wonder what in the world pro-abortion “Christians” think is floating around in the amniotic fluid of the womb prior to its birthday?

Your lawyer friend is a feel-good, happy-clappy, religious clubber. We’ve all got our weaknesses and our times when we sin, but the point is that we’re supposed to acknowledge it as sin. We’re not supposed to explain it away.

I probably should have voted for Baldwin.

Someone will be along soon to chide you for voting (in effect) for Zero, but not me. I also voted for Baldwin, in SC, a safe-bet state. Also, for the first time in my life, I did not vote for a Republican for Senate - Pandsy exemplifies my disgust, and I’m sure he gets his lever pulled plenty without a reach-around from me.

I don’t know if my vote will actually ever matter again in big elections, as I will be confining my family to “safe” states, purposely. I recognize that I prayed last night for the impossible, an electorate able to put their country/long-term, above a payday; an educated/un-indoctrinated electorate; a population where the ne’er-do-wells still had a conscious, and knew that they don’t really deserve a say while they are on the teet.

I know that I am foolish.

I will honor the memory of what a group of rabble rousers were able to accomplish 235 years ago, and what millions of men with great courage have sacrificed. As a more eloquent man that I has said, “I declare that this government is no longer a constitutional and moral form of government. I will deal with it, and I will obey its laws, and I will support it when it is defending our country from foreign and domestic enemies. I will vote in its elections and participate in its political debates. But I will never accept it. I aim at a restoration of constitutional and moral order.”

Another thing: In the future, it sure helps if whatever candidate you have is a bit articulate.

George Bush was better able to communicate a point and argue it than was John McCain.

Our best communicator this time was Giuliani, but he was no conservative. After him it was Romney or Thompson. Even Thompson, though, wasn’t quick on his feet.

Glad you're enjoying retirement. First - we'll have to change states because we're in Mexifornia. I want to move back to the U.S. Any ideas on good places? (with English spoken, family values, respect for work, etc... I know, I'm dreaming..)

Just a few short years ago I would have said East Tennessee. But our first Mexican President ruined it. East Tennessee Rural areas are still OK though. But the major cities like Knoxville, Oak Ridge and Morristown are over ran with Bush's Far South of Crawford, Texas friends.

I represent a couple of solid evangelical urban churches and am amazed that the pastors have the same outlook as the “christian” attorney you spoke to. All they could talk about was the “if you have done it unto the least of these” theme. I asked them if they knew who gave the most to “the least of these”, McCain or Obama and they could not answer nor could they explain “evil companions corrupt good morals”.

What is even more maddening is when the corruption and the restrictions on their liberty and pocketbook start, they will rejoice that God has counted them worthy to suffer rather than see it as God giving them the desires of their hearts and bringing leanness.

IMHO, the conservative movement was dealt a serious blow when the personal exploits of Newt Gingrich were exposed.

Since then, we have not had a spokesman to rival Newt.

I know it's a double standard, but if we are to set ourselves up above the Dem low lives, we need a representative who embodies his principles without his ‘baggage’.

I have recently been thinking of taking courses in political science and government. I think I should be willing to "walk the walk". ( a funny choice of words, given my current 'position')

What is the leanness that God will give for turning a head so as not to see the babies in Molech’s belly?

Or for helping to put them there?

Speaking of McCain, I guess he can toss out this act about being a conservative Republican.

He can relax, be himself. He can write new laws for Obama, that Im sure Obama will be happy to pass. Maybe he can start with the re-write of the Fairness doctrine .... or maybe Cap and trade, and banning offshore drilling. Maybe A good tax hike to nail the rich.

I can agree with that. I have long held that by Divine Law national leaders are one of two things. They are either a blessing to nations with contrite and GOD fearing hearts, or used as a judgement for those doing otherwise. For our drinking of the cup lesser of evils The Tab we have ran up as a nation has just come due. Clinton was a warning. Obama will be a judgement.

Yeah, he used the old "Golden Rule" argument and had the temerity to suggest that if Jesus were alive -- (as if he were dead) -- if Jesus were alive, today, he'd be a Democrat because somehow "doing unto others" is solely a Democrat virtue. I suggested that Jesus would never rob Peter to pay Paul, which is what the progressive tax does. I told him that Jesus would advocate voluntary Charity rather than forced Charity. I also pointed out that the welfare system makes the Government "God" in they eyes of those who receive Manna from the Government and they no longer rely upon the good graces of the Church.

It was a maddening conversation, but at the end, I knew that Obama was going to be the next president, because Obama is going to the the Messiah from Washington. People have decided to put their trust in Government and abandon their trust in God.

Its a sad day.

I'm probably going to retire to the Religion Forum after tonight. Let's say we start up the Calvin/Arminian wars again. At least if we are busy arguing scripture, we will also be busy studying it. I'm sick to death of politics. God's plan was set in motion before the foundation of the Earth. Sometimes its better to just watch from the sidelines than to struggle to change it.

..what a pathetic ending

Everything that I thought I was seeing was just a mirage.

Reagan's Party and Reagan's America is gone now.

I’d prefer my candidates in the future to resign their other positions. He returns to the Senate; she returns to the governorship.

As a paranoid conspiracy theorist....no...as another human being, it would be easy for me to say to myself, “Doesn’t matter; I still have a really good job to fall back on.”

What would they do differently if that weren’t true?

I just heard Carl Cameron on Fox say that many in McCain’s camp “whispered” that McCain felt Obama, as a historic candidate, “should” win.

Is that the same as hinting that McCain THREW this election?
