In political analysis, novices measure the election by states. Experts do it by counties.

Long night, hang tight.

Based on current reporting, Pennsylvania is going for Obama in a higher percentage than New Jersey, which is pretty surprising.

I'm glad I decided not to tune in FOX today, which means I haven't watched any TV election coverage today. I'm counting on FR, and FR alone.

Dittos. If the news is bad, I'd rather hear it from friends, rather than enemies.

78% of Philly districts have reported in (heavy for Obama) while only 47% of PA have reported in.

All I can say is that this whole reporting process is a disgrace. How in the hell can you call a state before the first vote is counted. I have been watching Fox thinking I might get some fair coverage, but wow was I wrong. All we can do is hope that later tonight all these unprofessional hacks have to eat their words and backtrack on their calls.

FOX IS CALLING STATES BASED ON EARLIER (FLAWED)POLLING, EVEN BEFORE A VOTE IS ACTUALLY COUNTED.

They were obviously new voters, needing instruction on how to vote.

During the time I was voting, there were more black voters there than I'd seen all day when I was Judge of Elections there.

That would have led me to guess there were many Obama voters. But also, they were discussing it...and the woman in front of me had her ballot out and about while being shown how to put it into the scanner, and I could see the markings, so it's confirmed firsthand for at least one. :-)

As of results right now, Fauxbama is doing better than Kerry in Philly, and about the same in Pittsburgh.

I’m not sure how many more Philly county districts are still outstanding, but right now its Fauxbamam 485,792 to 101,299. 2004 it was Kerry 542,205 to 130,099.

So it seems there are likely still some votes in Philly to come in. But unless there are 100k or more still outstanding in Philly, its hard to justify calling the state. Margins in Pitt are the same as 04 at this time... IF the rest of the state broke McCain with more of a margin than it did in 04, Fauxbama hasn’t won it.

I’m not buying the call yet folks, it was based on exit polling completely and polling in PA has been OFF this entire cycle.

I agree. Actually, it should be against the law.
