UPDATE FROM OHIO (More good news)
self | 11/4/08 | LS

So far:

Turnout at GOP precincts has been unbelievable.

In Darke Couty, which went 2:1 for Bush in 04, they are looking at 80% turnout and thousands of additional R voters.

In Allen County, heavy R turnout.

In Montgomery County (Kerry won by 2% in 04), the west side (D) precincts are coming in under 20% by mid-afternoon!!! Our R precincts are outpacing them 2:1.

Reports of other red counties are at tremendously high levels.

BASED ON THIS . . . .

wait for it

not only would I "call" Ohio now for McCain, but it's entirely likely he could end up being a sizeable statewide victory margin. I won't tell you yet what it could be, but it portends amazing things for the rest of the states.

If so, it's mostly due to Sarah Palin. I'll give McCain his due, though - he closed out the campaign extremely well and showed much more energy and enthusiasm than I expected.

Makes me wonder, though, if anyone other than McCain would have been savvy enough to pick Palin.

From the Columbus Dispatch Blog:

Don Klco, chair of Franklin County’s Democratic Central Committee and Bill Anthony, a member of the Board of Elections, have canvassed several polling East Side polling places this afternoon. This is what they’ve seen:

A 75 percent turn out at Living Faith Apostolic Church on Mock Road.

An 80 percent turn out at Driving Park Recreation Center, where the first voter lined up at 3:30 a.m.

And a 90 percent turn out at Linden McKinley High School.

- Suzanne Hoholik

What’s the news from RURAL and Southwest ohio???

Very good news.

Thanks LS!

I have a good source that reports extremely high turnout in Bucks County PA (suburb of Philly). Additionally he has heard of very, very heavy turnout in the Pittsburgh area. These are areas where high turnout is good for McCain.

Thank you for that update. Everything I have heard up to this point is either neutral or positive. Based upon past experience (this is the ninth Presidential election in which I have voted), I have to be encouraged. No guarantees, of course.

VOTE!!!!!!!

So, is MSM's deciding O is the winner making R's vote like never before, and D's stay home because they figure it's in the bag?

Oh yeah. Why should democrats even get out of bed? Oboma has already won - or so they've claimed.
Cool.

Sounds good to me for now. Let’s all just expect ALL of Cleveland and Cincinnati to come out an hour before the polls close and try to swing this the other way, so get out and vote and take nothing for granted!

Amen to your post!

Picking Palin was a brillant move by McCain and threw the entire election plans of Obama's thugs into disarray.

How does this compare to 2006? That’s the year we got our clocks cleaned in Ohio.

“So, is MSM’s deciding O is the winner making R’s vote like never before, and D’s stay home because they figure it’s in the bag?”

I am wondering the same thing! It could be that the MSM propaganda with the polls is backfiring.

Larry is a history professor at the Univ of Dayton & published author. Unlike the vast majority of posters at this forum (like me & yourself), none of us are putting our professional credentials on the line.

I will say one thing, if McC pulls this out, there is going to be a huge area of research into just what went wrong with the polls. My own instinct is that it's related to the same process by which advertisers stop targeting popular consumer items at 45+ viewers.

That is, voters in this age bracket are set and simply disengage from public dialogue if the psychic cost is too high; this is the reason for so many refusing to participate in polls.

RE: “You think I might see the glow of riot fires on the Chicago horizon from my suburban home? “The whole world’s watching”. 1968”

**************

You might well see something — I strongly believe there will be some sort of rioting in Chicago, whether Zero wins or loses. If he wins — some celebratory antics complete with gunshots, overturned/burned vehicles, etc. If he loses, all h*ll breaks out -—

I hope you are many miles from downtown!
