I'm standing in line (in the rain) in Richmond, Virginia. Where are you?
Hubby and I voted two weeks ago, absentee. Daughter, son-in-law, Mom, sisters - all voted already in RI this morning - no lines, no problems, more machines — ALL VOTED FOR MAC. More MAC votes coming from second daughter - but her husband - Obama guy - will try to tie him down (literally) so he can’t get to the polls.
just voted. Huge turnout in my very republican precint, but went smoothly.
On another note... Our polling place is in a church basement and upon arriving and standing in line I noticed a large rough hewn wooden cross on the wall, which was a good reminder of Who is sovereign over all and what is really important in this life (and the next.)
After I voted and was waiting for my son and husband I looked up on the wall over the tables where people were filling out paper ballots and there were several signs...
Is it true? Is it just? Is it lovely? Does it honor God?
Good questions to think about when voting today.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8
In Indiana, you cannot wear campaign apparel at the polls. The had a notice at the polls referencing as state law.
Using a BlackBerry 8310. FR looks great and posting is no problem.
Brooklyn / Brighton Beach no line, 172nd voter. Poll watcher says less than 100 show up for a whole day.
I voted two hours after the polls opened in an area just outside Milwaukee WI. Low/middle class. Lots of apartments and single mothers. It took less than 5 minutes and I was # 80.
City of Milwaukee has a referendum on the ballot with mandatory sick days (9 per year). That will bring the dems and frauds out in droves. My 22 year old son thinks that dems in the surrounding suburbs may stay home since this is not on the ballot. Many thought it was statewide. Hope he is right.
McCain/Palin
Country First!!
Slapout is a tiny, very rural, very red area. Our 2007 census population was 2473.
This was the 5th presidential election in which I have participated at this polling place. I always go to vote at 10:00 AM because, in the past, there has never been a line at that time.
This morning I arrived at 10:00 and had to wait in line for the first time ever. I was the 257th person to vote. That is 10% of our entire town's population and probably 50% of the people assigned to this polling place.
I feel this is a good indicator of what is happening nationally, as Alabama is a red state and turn out does not have the effect on our electoral votes that it has in other states. If my little town is turning out in droves to vote this election, I guarantee it means the rednecks nationally will be doing the same thing...IF, that is, we can let go of our guns and God long enough!!!
Just returned from polling place in New Ellenton SC....lots of people in camo driving pickups, with NRA stickers on their trucks.Gee, I wonder who they went for? Waited about 30 minutes. Poll workers were very thorough.
There is no such thing as an improper ID in Cook County Illinois, trust me, I've been there.
PLEASE tell us WHERE you are voting.
I voted absentee 3 weeks ago and noticed the same thing ... 0Bambi first on the list, McCain down about 5; wasn't any rhyme or reason to it either. I mean, if it'd have been alphabetical by last name, or first name, or ANYTHING else ... Brunner, Brown and Stricklend are trying there durndest to tie this state up for the wacko left.
I wore my 12 national championships shirt to the polls to vote.
I always try and wear some shade of red on election day for luck, so crimson naturally works.
Let’s hope that map is a deep shade by tonight :)
I just voted, and was a bit surprised to see so many young people voting here in my very red Houston suburb. I wonder if they’re voting like they’re parents, or striking out on their own?
Great. Smooth experience. The way it should be!

Greenville S.C.
stood in line over two hours, many minorities, but could be because of district I’m in. no Hispanics .
the process was strange as they had four people at desk to check people in all doing only one thing, I think that is why the wait was so long.
Most places I have voted in the past have alphabetical registration desks so you just go to that desk and do not have to wait through the whole crowd.
Also there were only 5 touch screen machines for a vary large district
there was also notices on the walls that SC limits time at touch screen to 3 minutes and a lot of people were there 10-15 mins with no one moving them .
45 minute total time to vote today in the Woodbury section of Irvine, CA. Well organized and folks were patient and polite. However, nobody was required to show ANY kind of indentificationi. I could have voted as Captain Kangaroo.
It was well organized. They had about 15 staff people and 13 voting machines. Usually have only 3 voting machines.
This is a heavy Dem precinct and it was about as busy as during a local off year election.
