I'm standing in line (in the rain) in Richmond, Virginia. Where are you?

Just got done voting here in Ohio and it is quite clear that our state govt (secretary of state and governor) are democrats. The presidential ballot was set up so the first choice was Obama and McCain was about the 6th choice down in between a bunch of names i had never even heard of...lol. oh well
Took us 45 minutes from start to finish, and that includes voting with our new machines. Pretty smooth overall. But only 10 booths at my polling location, much fewer than usual. Lots of folks voted early here in Florida, I know folks who spent two hours in line for early voting. When we left the line was shorter, probably about a 30 minutes wait total. It’s hard to say, I live in a very mixed district, about half/half Obama/McCain signs. Here is hoping McCain/Palin take Florida (which I think they will).
One family was there with their down syndrome adult child, with big smiles on their faces.
I’m not there yet. I’m in the shower.
Oops, dropped the laptop.
Ouch..sparks....ow,ow,ow,ow zizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
FYI my wife and I were at the polls at 6:45 in Exeter, NH and it was aleady packed to the gills as throngs of people were already in line to vote. Massive voter turnout here in Southern, NH.
nuts with obama bots? or nuts with republicans?
Just voted in Dallas County. I refused to vote early since I wanted to savor the right to vote which has been bought and paid for through the sacrifice of many. When I arrived at 6:30am, I was seventh in line. By 7:00am when the polls opened, approximately 60 people stood in line. I was out by 7:05. There were eight election officials present who did seem to have significant elections experience - which was a relief. My observation on voter turnout as compared to 2004 and 2006, the line this year was significantly longer than either prior election at the same hour of the day.
Hahahahha,,,how do we check in when in line? I am tech ignorant and don’t text or own a blackberry!!
Was witness to a young black woman trying to vote twice. She had already voted by mail and attempted to vote in person, after waiting in line for an hour..
People, please tell us where you are speaking from. It does us no good to understand the turnout dynamics if you don’t disclose state, county, and whether the area is D, R or other. Thanks
She had no intention of voting this morning. She was using her body to lengthen the line and her car to pack the parking lot to discourage McCain voters away from the polling place. Now you know why there was so much early voting for Obama.
Sorry, I did in my first post on this thread: a red-leaning town in the blue state of CT.
Black turn out is heavy and this is Arizona—we don’t even have much of a black population. I’d say it was 8 percent of the line.
I've voted! Well organized queue in Boca Raton. My boss did the same not more than 4 blocks away. Smooth and efficient, lines were running about 100-120 people which is not too much larger than 2004. Maybe a 10-15% increase.
Watching Obama vote on Fox. He’s taking forever! Too funny! It looks like they can’t figure out what they are doing!
