Well... Are you?
So, DON’T LOSE!
Get out the vote. Win the election. Stop Obama.
What’s this about a “Fairness Doctrine?” First I’ve heard of it. /s
Gosh, without media access, I could have a Real Life again: clean my house, bake bread, take the kids to the dentist, practice the mandolin, write to my mother ...
It has potential.
Rather than the audience, it will more interesting to see what the Talk Radio hosts do: are they willing fight for their own First Amendment??
Just raising a question for debate.
My personal feeling is that such a doctrine would kill commercial radio (over the public airwaves) and that the broadcasters will never let it happen.
early voting stats.

I agree they’ll try, but the Roberts court will strike it down.
Rush could do a half-hour of his regular show, then a half hour of commercials interspersed with readings from the Communist Manifesto ... Just let everyone know exactly what’s on the schedule, and arrange the shows on different stations so one can always find the legitimate content :-).
If Congress can vote a $700B Bill over the objections of 95% of the public, they can do anything with a President Obama.
Obviously, you’ve never had to deal with the government cutting your access to certain websites. Where I work, they already do. The government could cut you off in the blink of an eye.
I suspect SOMEONE will take the Fairness Doctrine to the courts right after it is passed!
If they try to initiate this again, the fairness doctrine should not just apply to radio...it should be across ALL media.
They will 'strike down' the Roberts court first.
We’d better start calling it the “so-called fairness doctrine.” The left really knows how to title things to mean the opposite of what they are. We are really dumb if we continue to go along with their misleading titles.
I think that internet radio and Sat radio are nice, but only about 10% of the core conservative AM radio people have access to that.
Think of all the retirees who listen to AM radio right now. They won’t go out and pay for XM nor will they have a PC or if they do listen to it. An AM radio is so cheap, it is essentially fee. A PC or XM radio costs real money.
Think also of all the conservative workers on construction sites, etc who are tuned into Rush during the day.
Killing Rush on AM radio would be a major death blow to us all, even if a number of us search out more costly alternatives.
I do agree with you though that the radio stations themselves would fight this tooth and nail. It would destroy their business.
The ‘Roberts Court’??? Obama gets to select the Supreme Court and he also gets the power to ignore it... God knows that Clinton sure did.

I think satellite radio and internet radio...end up dissolving the Fairness Doctrine into a dead issue. If the Democrats want to run the doctrine...they will doom AM radio to bailout money for years to come...while everyone shifts to venues that the SEC cannot control or change.
A secondary issue will end up arising as various groups turn to the AM stations that broadcast NPR...asking that they tone down their message. Either the Feds convert NPR to satellite radio or it will be in serious legal trouble. For those wondering...satellite radio channels won’t come cheap and if the federal government wants to run a full-time channel....it’ll make for a curious congressional meeting where massive funding has to occur because they can’t run a “fair” network.
