RUSH: Now, on Charlie Rose Show last night on PBS. Are they doing their pledge drive yet? Is PBS doing their drive? Because, you know, "Without your Pledge, we cannot dust." He had on Tom Brokaw last night, ladies and gentlemen. Here's a montage. Now, this is last night. As you listen to this, keep in mind everything you've heard from Brokaw and others in the Drive-Bys can for the past six months, three months, two months or whatever. This is a montage of Charlie Rose and Brokaw trying to figure out who Obama is.
ROSE: I don't know what Barack Obama's worldview is.
BROKAW: No, I don't, either.
ROSE: I don't know how he really sees where China is.
BROKAW: We don't know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.
ROSE: I don't really know. And do we know anything about the people who are advising him?
BROKAW: Yeah, it's an interesting question.
ROSE: He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational (sic) speeches.
BROKAW: Two of them! I don't know what books he's read.
ROSE: What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?
BROKAW: There's a lot about him we don't know.
RUSH: Incredible! (laughing) Let's send the journalist to find out! Why, have you guys ever thought of that, Tom? Have you ever thought about sending a reporter to find out who the guy is? Charlie! You got plenty of reporters there at PBS, at least on the... Have you ever thought about sending anybody out to find out who he is, besides the two books? (laughing) I cannot believe this. We know who his heroes are -- and, of course, that's the point! We know who his heroes are r we know who his alliances are with. We know who his friends are. We know that he chose them all. But to hear... This is last night. This is, what, four days, five days before the election. These are two of Obama's biggest media supporters! You gotta... I gotta hear this again. This is hilarious if it weren't so damn maddening, because the answer to this is, "Hey, Tom? Talk to the bureau chief in Washington, the new guy who replaced Russert. What you do is, you assign a reporter to go out and find out who Obama is." ROSE: I don't know what Barack Obama's worldview is.

RUSH: Well, we know one of his heroes is a member of the Communist Party, Frank Davis. He mentored him in Hawaii. There's a lot we know, Tom. (laughing) Does this not ice it? Does this not ice...? We know as much as can be known about Obama, far more than he wants us to know, and here are these two pillars of Drive-By journalism. "I don't know. I don't know. It's an interesting question, Charlie. It's an interesting question." (laughing) I just think this is... "That's true." Two pillars of journalism, one has an audience and one doesn't, but it doesn't matter. They're both still pillars. Hey, Tom, Charlie, I think we can help here about his view of China. This was last night on MSNBC, and he was asked this question, Obama was. "Is there a possibility you could see in your first term if elected and we need an economic stimulus, an FDR style public works program?"
OBAMA: I've actually talk about this. I think we have to rebuild our infrastructure. Look at what China's doing right now. They, uh, er, uh -- Their trains are faster than us. Their ports are better than us. They are preparing for a very competitive Twenty-First Century economy, and we're not.
RUSH: Okay, Charlie? Tom? You just heard Obama say after you're wondering where he is on China, he thinks they're better than us! And, by the way, to be grammatical correct it would be "better than we." You don't say "better than us are." You say "better than we are." The trains run on time? All this infrastructure? Look at the infrastructure that cannot handle a .0001 earthquake! Basically a giant taking a couple of steps will crap some buildings over there. But here's Barack Obama singing, once again, the praises of China, a communist country -- and what? Criticizing the United States. It was an interesting point. It was a very interesting point to an interesting question. Tom Brokaw said it was "an interesting question," What is his attitude on China, the people advising him. Here it is. He loves China, he thinks the United States sucks. Barack Obama, last night on PMSNBC.

I listened to these two ass clowns on Rush today. Unbelievable! They sound like Beavis and Butthead, not (alleged) journalists, LOL.
He’s a Democrat. That’s all some people think they need to know.
The RNC should package this and play in every battleground state 4 times an hour for the next 96 hours.

This is mind boggling. Tom Brokaw interviewing Charlie Rose on PBS last night and nether one of them had a clue who Obama was. Tom, all you had to do was send a reporter out to interview the guy and for 2 years you and the rest of the Main Stream Media gave him a pass. Don’t you think it’s a little too late to be wondering WHO he is NOW? I can’t believe it. This is Tom Brokaw, Mr. NBC Anchor Man. You and your buddies were cheerleaders for him.
Tom, one he was reading with his finger as a marker about 1/3 way through is Fareed Zakaria’s “The Post-American World.”

I was able to get the mp3 via the slow “Free User” download,
even with
my cranky old dial-up on my Dell PC.
It’s stunning to listen to these two guys sound like they’re the
least “curious” (as in investigative) people in journalism.
It may perhaps be “the judgment of God.”
The GOP needs to turn that into a commercial.
Absolutley... where can we get clean audio of the conversation.? The only one on youtube is from Rush’s show and it is awful...
In a way I think this media lapdog mentality will in the long run hurt Obama.
If Brokaw and Rose don't know who this guy is and they have the ability to know, and the ability not to tell us
That will hurt him in the voter booth, as Americans will ask themselves the same question as Brokaw and Rose and found wanting. At least with McCain people know who he is
So, in terms of his - Obama’s “heroes”, and what the Obama “world view” is that he might have developed from them, Brokaw and Rose cannot even admit in public what they, quite factually do know:
(1) Frank Marshall Davis, a lifelong member of the Communist Party USA and Obama’s mentor growing up in Hawaii;
(2) Reverend Jeremiah Wright, pastor who preaches a variant of Marxist liberation theology, known as Black Liberation Theology; twenty years Obama’s pastor; married Obama; baptized his children; mentioned in Obama’s autobiographical works as an inspiration to him, and from whom Obama got the title of his book “Audacity of Hope”;
(3) William Ayers; a Marxist who calls himself a small “c” communist; former member of SDS and the violent Weather Underground in the 1960s; friend and acquaintance of Obama’s since the 1980s; appointed Obama to run a non-profit board in the 1990s and neighbor of Obama’s since then;
(4) ACORN, founded by another Marxist friend of Ayers from their SDS days; provided the grass roots voter registration and get-out-the-vote troops for Obama in all his election campaigns;
(5) the “New Party’ founded by Marxists in Chicago in the 1990s, with the mission to get their members inserted into the Democratic Party; worked with ACORN and others in promoting Obama, a New Party member, in his Illinois State elections and touted his success there as their success;
(6) the Democratic Socialists of America; founded in Chicago by Marxists who, like the New Party, wanted cover within the Democrats for promoting candidates they wanted; assisted ACORN and the New Party in backing and supporting Obama in every election he has been a candidate in.
I think what Rose and Brokaw were doing was simply confirming, by pretense, NOT what they don’t know about Obama, but what the average citizen was not told about Obama - and they know THAT. The “worldview” all of the above is not a secret, even to the media members who won’t talk about it. To omit that lifelong trail of Obama with Marxists and pretend you have no clue about his possible worldview, is simply a lie.
To project that he is an empty suit is nothing other than a last-minute possible CYA, for Rose and Brokaw, should the Marxist agenda of Obama produce the backlash it deserves.

Rush is right about no one in the media really “questioning” who That One is; it’s disgusting. And it’s completely the fault of Rose and Brokaw and the other talking heads providing defense for That One.
But Rush is 100% WRONG about China’s “0.0001 magnitude” earthquake. The Sichuan earthquake was an 8.0, with a dozen 6.0+ aftershocks. It brought down millions of cubic feet of mountain and land, filling villages and valleys.
It wasn’t a “barely felt thing” - it was freaking huge. Bigger than any earthquake in the US since 1812 - bigger than the Northridge earthquake of 1994 (only a 6.7 - about 1/20th that of the Sichuan in China), and greater than the 7.8 in San Francisco in 1906.
Rush had to get a dig in though, and made himself look like an idiot with this claim...
