I did not know that.
Really, I didn’t know that Barack Obama wants to outlaw CCWs (concealed weapons permits). I thought that I’d followed this campaign closer than most, but this one got right by me. For the record, I myself hold a State of Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License, having subjected myself to a background check, paid the fee (and renewal fees) and demonstrated proficiency and responsibility with personal firearms. Hell, there was a time some years ago when I was berated on a radio show for having submitted myself to the scrutiny of the government for having applied for a permit as a prerequisite to carrying. Now I learn that if Obama wins I won’t even have the right to ask the government to certify me to responsibly exercise my rights (obligations?) under the second amendment. Has he been asked a direct question in the presidential campaign about why he feels that way?

Obama flat says, with pausal prompts omitted, “I continue to support a ban on concealed carry laws.” As I mentioned, I didn’t know that until now. It turns out that it really isn’t much of a secret, (”I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry”) but you wouldn’t know that from Obama’s campaign website, where you have to find his position on the 2nd Amendment under “additional issues — sportsmen” and not find anything about carry permits.

This concealed carry ban by Obama has been well known by the Illinois State Rifle Assoc. for a long time. If the ISRA knows it, than the NRA knows it. If the NRA doesn't make it bigger news in swing states, then its their own fault.

It's just another facet of the "redistribution of wealth" program. After our paychecks have already been robbed by the Obama/Reid/Pelosi cartel, their thugs on the street get to "supplement" their government checks by robbing us again.

Well said. Obama's not attempting to deceive though: he's succeeding effortlessly at it. He's a sloppily counterfeited $100.00 bill folded and dropped into the collection plate. He's a master con artist. He creates a verbal rough sketch of his plans for this country, confident that credulous supporters will fill in the finer details and color it all in according to their own personal tastes. After all, what fault is it of his that voter's imagined him to be greater than he is? That's why his campaign already has a plan to kill the expectations of his supporters as soon as he's elected.
You're right, and that's because the failure to detect an enemy, adversary or deceiver has serious consequences, both for you and for others, in the above situations. Failing to detect enemies is failure, period. Something that liberals don't even believe in - (expect they believe that President Bush is a failure) - "If I feel good about it, it's not a failure".

I havent even been able to listen to it yet...even back to the 04' speech I dont think Ive actually bothered to pause for 2 min to punish myself with its oratory... I cant get past the 'I'm better than thou' look and attitude...

Why has the gun issue not been made a central issue in this campaign? Obama is running with GunGrabber Joe fgs and it seems like American gun owners are so complacecent in the wake of Heller that they are going to allow the most anti-gun ticket in living memory to be elected without a fight.
The gun issue needs to made the #1 issue this weekend...because you can be sure that if elected GunGrabber Joe, with nothing better to do with his time, will spend every day looking for a ‘pretext’ incident to blow up into a liberal media ‘cause celebre’ to reverse Heller through REPEAL of the 2nd and til then will be chipping away tirelessly at the RTKBA until they can pack the Supremes with Bork-litmus-tested antigun ‘Justices’...that’s the kind of ‘change’ he and Obama ‘hope’ for.

I have to admit that I agree with Obama on this. I don’t believe in conceal carry permits either. However, we diverge there. Unlike Barry, I believe the second amendment already gives me the right to carry (openly or concealed). I guess he gets hung up on the bearing part in the amendment.
Yes, I have a carry permit so that I can legally carry and not be hassled by the cops if I got pulled over. But I don’t like it.
