A growing number of voters have concluded that Senator John McCains running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, is not qualified to be vice president, weighing down the Republican ticket in the last days of the campaign, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
All told, 59 percent of voters surveyed said Ms. Palin was not prepared for the job, up nine percentage points since the beginning of the month. Nearly a third of voters polled said the vice-presidential selection would be a major factor influencing their vote for president, and those voters broadly favor Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee.
And in a possible indication that the choice of Ms. Palin has hurt Mr. McCains image, voters said they had much more confidence in Mr. Obama to pick qualified people for his administration than they did in Mr. McCain....
Over all, views of Ms. Palin were apparently shaped more by ideology and party than by gender. Ms. Palin was viewed as unprepared for the job by about 6 in 10 men and women alike. But 8 in 10 Democrats viewed her as unprepared, as well as more than 6 in 10 independents and 3 in 10 Republicans.

I think she is eminently qualified and just what we need. I think McCain proved his wisdom and courage when he chose her. People who spout this type of stuff instantly lose credibility with me.
Ed Sisson on Obama and Saul Alinsky, Maimon Schwarzschild: "build animosity" against "ripe targets," to "mercilessly zero[] in on" the person selected as a target, and the need to select new people to be fresh targets when the people targeted in the past have "become too shopworn to light up anyones emotional switchboard"?
Understand that the polls can vary whether cell phones are called vs. land phones.
The Old Gray Mare Is Lame, TheTimes, well credibility is shot there anyway. LATimes laying off more workers--advertising loss means FEWER READERS! Probably Bin Laden, if alive, and has been hiding out there all along. Anyone ever think to look??
Joe Biden didn’t even know what the job was he was running for in the debate, yet he is presented as being more qualified by the press.
I say bull sh@t. Sarah Palin is the only reason I am voting for McCain. NY Times, etal, are going to be crying for the next four years after this tuesday. And I will laugh!! :)
She certainly attracts more people from a geographic area than exist readers of the New York Times in those areas.
The New York Times only distributes around a million daily newspapers throughout the entire U.S., giving it a fairly thin distribution outside of New York City, whereas Governor Palin attracts surprisingly large fractions of the populace even on weekday mornings and afternoons, a remarkable drawing capacity for a politician.
I’ll have to admit, just reading this tripe gave me a very nice laugh.
Imagine you’re a newspaper, and you’re trying to destroy your political enemies. You write an article intended to trash the character of your enemy, and those who disagree with you don’t even get angry. They just laugh at you.
This is the fate of the New York Times. It’s so preposterous, that you don’t get angry. You just laugh at their audacity.
Saying Palin is holding McCain down, is like saying a Titanic lifeboat was a hindrance to those ill fated people.
In a word, hogwash. HOlding him down, ROTFLMBO...
As soon as I read the source: NYTimes, I immediately chalked the story up as lies and useless. The NYT is nothing but and antiAmerican Obamessiah propaganda machine for the DNC. The NYT isn’t worth the paper it is printed on but hey it is still useful when you need to clean your windows with Windex or to wrap fish in or line your bird cage with. That is about all it is good for any more.
Good one. I will remember that.
You really hate Sarah, don’t you Stevey? It’s really gonna frost you having to see her all over the news as VP for the next 8 years, isn’t it?
Shove it, troll.
At the NYTimes, they create the news.
Facts are not necessary or welcome.
Crap. Sarah continues to draw crowds in excess of 20k. It doesn’t count when fair weather conservatives like Peggy Noonan and Kathleen Parker jump ship. Any conservative who votes for Obama was never a conservative to begin with.
Yours is the 136th post and ol’ steve-b hasn’t responded a single time. He/she/it posted this drivel and ran.
Sure thing, Nostradamus.
