State Sen. Kay Hagan says she'll go to court to seek a cease-and-desist order against U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole's campaign if the "godless" TV spot isn't pulled in the next 24 hours.
Hagan, a Democrat, held a press conference this morning with her family and minister at the Presbyterian church in Greensboro where she is an elder and has taught Sunday school.
Hagan's campaign said it had delivered letters to Dole's Raleigh and Salisbury offices and her Washington, D.C., home, giving the campaign 24 hours to pull the ad before Hagan's campaign took legal recourse.
The political ad suggests Hagan is "godless" because she attended a fundraiser in Boston in September at the home of author Wendy Kaminer and her husband, Woody Kaplan, who was on the advisory board of the Godless Americans political action committee and active in a group that promotes "secular" ideas.
The TV ad features an announcer saying "Godless Americans and Kay Hagan. She hid from cameras. Took godless money. What did Hagan promise in return?"
Hagan and Dole are in a tight race for the Senate race.

She’s a Democrat. She’s pro-abortion. Thus, she’s not godless. She worships Moloch.

Exactly. If the shoe fits this DemocRat should wwear it.
But like most DemocRats, her view of the First Amendment is highly selective.
Hmm...great ad by Liddy Dole.
Dems hate the truth. Dems threaten legal action whenever the truth gets out. I hope Dole sticks with this attack. And frankly, as a member of a mainline protestant church (Episcopal), I can tell you that Hagan’s membership of another such denomination, by itself, isn’t really that much of a defense.
Those dang facts. Always getting in the way of liberal lies.
This is reminiscent of the idiotic ad we have running locally that says Shane Massey is against the Ten Commandments and the Lord’s Prayer. I’ll be so happy when this election season is over.
Good for Liddy. Jesse Helms would be proud. Shame her husband never fought like this.
Amen !

Hagen suck it up.
Boy could I make a great ad out of this one. Does Hagen teach in Sunday School that it's OK to murder itty bitty babies before they're born?
Yeah...LOL!...Jesse was the direct mail King.
Last week of the election, Jim Hunt would be hit, last week of the election Harvey Gantt...hit again..
Bout time Liddy took a lesson.
That teach Sunday School bit was the same pablum that Hillary Clinton used to trot out, if those folks are teaching Sunday School, Lord help us all.
Hey FRiend!
I hope the computer problems went by without too much pain!
I say Amen with you!
If you don't want to be linked to Atheists, terrorists,
felons, and race-baiting anti-americans, don't hang
around with them.
Pretty simple really.
If you don't want these kind of questions asked, stop
taking money from Anti-christ-like kinda peoples!”
I like this comment from the source site.
Direct mail is unfair. Most rat voters can’t read or don’t have permanent addresses.
All I can say is, “WOW!!!”
This is a devastating and simply GREAT TV ad:

If you don't want to be called 'godless' don't associate with and accept money from self professed 'godless' folks.
Didn’t Hagan leap into contention in this race by running an ad about Dole not spending enough time in the state? So why is she having fundraisers in Boston with atheists? Not enough actual supporters in the state to get her elected?
My thoughts exactly; a little bit of Carter Wrenn and Jesse Helms lives on in North Carolina...good for Senator Dole.
