What will be your first bellweather sign as to which way the election will go?
Posted on 10/27/2008 2:02:11 PM PDT by Osama Obama
What will be your first tipoff as to the final outcome of the election? Will it be the weather forcast a few days before the election? Will it be the reports of where voter turnout is the heaviest? How about the speed with which some of the first states will be called? What's your tell?

I agree. Charities will suffer greatly if O wins. Goodbye thousand points of light. Hello bigger government.

Remember, the networks call these states based on EXIT POLLS I can almost predict exactly their words they will use for Florida to try to get a voter suppression repeat like 2000 (to try to influence the panhandle and other States.)
Well folks, we don't have any results in yet, but based on the overwhelming response in our exit polls we can safely call Florida for Obama- it looks like it is going to be Obama's night...
Mark my words- the results will be different, but you will have at least a couple of networks saying this almost exact line.

I predict: If it’s for Obama, the race will be called by 6:00pm Pacific-TWO HOURS before the polls close in the Western US. If it looks like McCain, they won’t call it until the last polls close in Alaska & Hawaii.

My first bellwether was seeing the Cubs and Chisox get eliminated. An all-chicago world series would have been a bad sign.
My second test is seeing the Phillies close it out tonite, so there will be less TV viewers on wednesday for the fraud’s infomercial.
the third sign will be...I’ll have to get back to you on that.

We’ve already got some tells here in PA. Usually our community is papered with campaign signs, especially Dems. Not so this year: McCain signs are not overwhelming, but they certainly outnumber O signs many times over. Even more telling is the fact that McCain signs aren’t being stolen. And the most telling of all is the observation that Dems are putting up signs for candidates farther down the ticket, but not Obama signs. I think a lot of Dems are happy with their strong majorities in Congress and figure they can let “the maverick” take the con for a couple of years until they can get Hilary in.

The reaction of the Drive Bys on election day as they start getting exit poll and on ground reports as well as internals that are leaked from the campaigns. If you see them more subdued during the day, you'll know they are concerned things might not go their way in the evening. If they are giddy and just can't wait for the first polls to close to start declaring states, then we MIGHT be in for a loss.

Don’t forget 2004. The networks called VA for Kerry...FOX had it too close to call and the Fox ‘Allstars’ were all busy blaming Bush for running an awful campaign.

Regardless of what my own bellwether would be vis a vis who “wins,” I believe MSM will proclaim an Obama victory the minute it is clear that just one eastern state shows him as “winner.”
Sure hope everyone goes ahead and votes no matter what the predictions are moment to moment. There are important races and issues on most ballots across the country and they need to be voted on too!!!

NH will be the first state I’ll watch.
VA and NC will be absolutely worthless as a comparision point due to AA turnout. But NH is a good one to watch.
The sooner it is called for Obama, the better it is for Obama.
McCain can win without NH, but if he does, it’s a secure victory for him.

While the pools say opposite, I see way more McCain signs in CT than Obama, and when I see Obama yard signs, I almsot always see a McCain sign a few yards down, but not the other way around.

Yea, and Obama is no true White Sox fan either. The White Sox were eliminated by Tampa Bay and a true White Sox fan would have had a pretty strong opinion as to whether they wanted Tampa Bay to win or lose. For White Sox fans, there could be true disagreement as to which would be preferable, but they wouldn't be indifferent as Obama said he was.
