Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she supports John McCain's position on immigration, including a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
She said she doesn't support "amnesty" because those here illegally should be shuttled to the back of the line for services.
"John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too. We secure our borders first. But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today," she told Univision's "Al Punto" Sunday political talk show in an interview aired this weekend.
More Palin quotes [from the Univision interview] in the Times blog entry.
. . . . .
I sincerely hope that Gov. Palin turns out as "Reagan in a skirt" rather than McCain in a skirt.
I just want to be the first to say it’s the media’s fault.
They got to her....
If McCain loses she better come out fast with how they forced her to say this crap.
Here is the rest of what she said.
She said she doesn’t support “amnesty” because those here illegally should be shuttled to the back of the line for services.
“Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the law, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.”
She also said she opposes driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and said she would not halt immigration raids. She said decisions on raids should be made “on a case-by-case basis to consider all the ramifications of each individual action.”
During the VP debate she briefly went on the record in support of capping carbon emissions.
Either McCain's group has brainwashed her...or she was like this to begin with.
What would you expect her to say to Univision?
But I don't care about the Palin quote. Voting enthusiatically for Palin / against Obama.
Should read the whole interview. Palin does not support amnesty.
Where is the real source? This is a Washington Times blog page saying she said this, but as we know from the fake report from a Spanish language blog a week ago, anyone can write anything in a blog.
What on earth, is the point of posting this garbage NOW?! Do you want to discourage people from voting to defeat the Marxist or are you just stuipid? Which is it?

Well said.
People were too busy throwing their panties on stage to ask questions. You saw the behavior directed at those of us who asked.
How can you comment on this without reading & quoting from the ENTIRE article? Further down, additional quotes negate the sensationalism.
She supports a path to citizenship...but only when the ILLEGALS get to the back of the line.
What politician is going to cut their own throat on this issue eight days out?
Quit making it sound worse than it is.
Any more questions?
Smartass, what is there we really don't know that would make ONE SINGLE DIFFERENCE AT THIS POINT IN TIME? Answer that?
Is that what Gov. Palin is supporting or is she supporting something else entirely?
I am voting against Obama, regardless of this. Besides, as the VP nominee, she has to take this approach in support of the top of the ticket.
