“Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she supports John McCain’s position on immigration, including a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

She said she doesn’t support “amnesty” because those here illegally should be shuttled to the back of the line for services.”

Yeah well, no matter how the moderators try and twist it (as did Bush and McCain, who ALSO publicly oppose “amnesty”) unless the end of the line is back in their home country, with no access to their undeserved, illegally held American jobs, and behind countless others in their respective countries, who’ve already applied for entry/or citizenship, then Palin supports rewarding the lawbreakers with SOME FORM OF EARNED AMNESTY.

Of course, such a statement usually leaves the illegal alien loving globalists quaking in their ‘economy’ boots. To them I say...”Ownership Society” and thank you very much GWB.

I didn’t mean to make an enemy.

The middle and the left account for 60% of the voting population. 40% won’t win any elections.

The damage was done when FDR implemented socialism in many steps, each step building on the last. The theme of the decade was that capitalism failed. It was a total lie.

All or nothing is why the libertarians get about 1% of the vote. We have arrived at this point with 75 years of two steps forward, one step back by the socialists.

That is the only way we will win. With a couple of steps forward and one step back. Socialism is rather hard to “undo”. We now have multiple generations that see the government as the solution. How do you change this mindset in 200 million people? When many Freepers show the same mindset? “Why doesn’t the government DO something!” When the question should be “how do we get it it stop?”

Being rid of the illegal immigrants would be a start, but it is just one of the many pieces involved. It’s not the magic keystone that will make it all better if it was solved to your satisfaction. If we hadn’t gone down the road to where voters now can vote for bread and circuses, immigration would not be quite as a severe threat to our existence as a nation.

I am for secure borders. It is the primary purpose of our government. I would support a path to legalization with either 4 years of military service or 10 years of paying into the social security fund before the payee starts getting any credited to their own account. Legal immigrants should be increased in numbers, as it is the only way to keep our Ponzi scheme going on social security.

Our schools, colleges, newspapers, some of our religions are filled with people with good intentions, but they all believe that the government’s primary purpose is to be the nations mommy and daddy. They like the phrase “each according to their ability and each according to their need” Yet most do not understand the inherent evil it represents.

I agree that conservatism wins when it is articulated well. To bad we don’t have many that can do it.

“She is careful in how she says these things because she does have to answer to the boss(McCain)right now anyway.”

Exactly. She has got an election to win! For God’s sake, the MSM is beating up on her for any and everything, and people are complaining that she is too circumspect about this issue. Give the lady a break.

This is an important issue to me and mine and I am satisfied with her answer. It is a better answer than we will get from any of the others running.

I apologize. I am very passionate about this issue and had no intentions of giving you the impression that I saw you as an enemy.

Read my solution, it may not be the one that you like. We want to make it more beneficial to those that immigrate legally so as to not appear to be rewarding those that jumped the line.

How do we make lemon-aid from when given lemons? We need creative solutions.

Legal immigrants should be increased in numbers, as it is the only way to keep our Ponzi scheme going on social security.

Legal, educated, productive immigrants...yes. So far the majority of illegals are not in that category.

The illegal alien issue would not be an issue at all if not for government entitlement spending and income taxes. Get rid of all of those, as well as the associated bureaucracies, and then McCain's "practical" plan makes sense. Otherwise, all we're going to get is another amnesty in a few years...and next time it will be for a whole lot more than twenty million illegals.

Exactly. But based on some of the comments here, it seems there are some Freepers looking for any reason to dump McCain, and amnesty is one of them. Maybe McCain's support in this election isn't as solid as we would like to think.

You guys don't get it...I don't want McCain as the President...The liberal Republican Party forced me (again) to get stuck with a liberal nominee...And a globalist at that...McCain will NOT get my vote...

McCain's only hope was Sarah Palin...Without her, McCain may have well saddled up his horse a long time ago...

I was hoping Sarah would have been more of an independant...If voting for Sarah is the same as voting for McCain, I'm losing interest fast...She would have been smart to stay off the Mexican channel...

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the third party voters, the too proud conservative and, of course, the 0bama voters and the DNC for making the above quote possible. If it comes to pass, the blood will be on your hands. You had a chance to stop it, but instead, you chose to make it happen.

I'll bet you're one of the people that gave us Clinton...You guys figured you could force us to accept Daddy Bush...How's that go, 'One thing people never learn from history---

Now THIS is how to answer Univision, Freepers.

Indeed! However, a VP candidate is supposed to agree with the top of the ticket.

If Palin really opposed amnesty at least she could have given a vague answer instead of saying she supports a "path to citizenship," which is a euphemism for amnesty.

My wife and I voted against BO, but I still feel guilty because I voted for a pro-amnesty candidate. I believe that if amnesty passes it will lead to Dem (or worse) control of all 3 branches of government when the new voters vote.

>>You start making decisions based on what the MIDDLE wants, like giving 35 plus million illegal aliens (and their families who follow them here) the right to vote, you’ll never have a chance to vote CONSERVATIVE again. THAT’s suicidal.<<

Agree. Unfortunately, BO wants amnesty plus a SCOTUS who will ignore the constitution. It’s very sad that neither POTUS candidate deserves to be elected.

This is why she has very little clout other than holding the applause sign for McAmnesty. They will not receive my vote.

Gave "us" Clinton? Is that the best you've got? I gave money to Perot during the primary, but realized Bush Sr. was better than Clinton and the Clinton Crime family. Obviously, you are a Clinton voter as well as an Obama supporter.

If you are so blind that you cannot or will not see the choice in front of you, if you are unable to listen to the contempt Obama has for the Constitution, to see the people he runs with, his own intentions for the tax code, the Supreme Court, the expansion of the welfare system, "free" health care for everyone, freedom of speech, second amendment,...and let's not forget your one precious issue: immigration. We have an unofficial "open door" policy now. 0bama will make it official.

Obama is dangerous as a senator, but as head of the liberal trifecta Gang of Three, they will for at least two years have freedom to do whatever silly liberal whim they have been wanting to do to us. It's the dims who court the illegal alien vote. And there is not any third party candidate who has a snowballs chance in the Sonoran desert in August to do a damn thing about any of the above.

McCain is not my favorite candidate, but take a hard look at Obama and tell me you think he's the better of the two. If you believe he is, you are not a conservative. You are a socialist loving 0bama follower. You're not quite as bad as the "Jews for Hitler" crowd, but the end result is the same. You could do something right now to help stop what's coming or stop pretending you're something you're not.

Reagan would have voted for McCain. He knew it was better to get most of what you want than almost all of what you don't. I'm wasting my time with you and the rest of the 0bama infiltrators here, but there may be others who are able to see what is in front of us and will read these posts and vote so as to get the best result possible.
