PRINCETON, NJ -- Jewish voters nationwide have grown increasingly comfortable with voting for Barack Obama for president since the Illinois senator secured the Democratic nomination in June. They now favor Obama over John McCain by more than 3 to 1, 74% to 22%.
This is based on monthly averages of Gallup Poll Daily tracking results, including interviews with more than 500 Jewish registered voters each month.
Support for Obama among all registered voters was fairly stable from June through September, but then rose sharply in October -- in apparent reaction to the U.S. economic crisis. By contrast, support for Obama among Jewish voters has expanded more gradually, from the low 60% range in June and July to 66% in August, 69% in September, and 74% today.
The current proportion of U.S. Jews backing Obama is identical to the level of support the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards received in the 2004 presidential election (74%). It is only slightly lower than what Al Gore and Joe Lieberman received in 2000 (80%) -- when the first Jewish American appeared on the presidential ticket of a major party.
Recent support for Obama is a bit higher among older Jews than among Jews younger than 55. According to combined Gallup Poll Daily tracking data from Sept. 1 through Oct. 21, an average of 74% of Jews aged 55 and older supported Obama for president across this period, compared with about two-thirds of younger Jews.

“What is your point?”
Those Jews in America supporting Crypto-Muslim Obama didn’t learn anything from the Hitler situation in Germany, apparently.
“0, give or take?”
I’ll bet you there were a lot more than that.
I agree with you about gravitation!
“Obama endorsed by Hamas and 75% of American Jews would still vote for him?”
Do you really think that many will vote for a Muslim?
Based on?
No, but that many would vote for a Democrat if Adolf Hitler himself was running as a Dem.
Gore got 79% Kerry got 74%

Some polls are showing Obama is at 60% for the Jewish vote.

they’ve lost their connection with God....Yaweh, Jehovah, the Father..many, not all...the message for them is right under their noses if they’d pay attention
i’m not going to applaud Jews who come to their senses just based on fears about Israel...although I understand why Jews care about Israel....I care about my fellow white Christian English speaking peoples round the globe myself
what about America, plenty of them have been wrong about what’s good for all of us right in here in America for a long time
but...in realpolitk speak...if they get worked up over Israel then maybe they will not vote for Obama but many of them don’t like the America I do
they are not really self hating...that is an easy excuse
they hate Christian conservatism more than they do huggie bears with Islam
they don’t much like Jewish conservatism either...
where most Jews went wrong ideologically is a question for the ages...not a new issue
I am a Jewish Californian, and I must say, I cannot believe
that any Jew would vote for Obama. I am also reminded of something Dennis Praeger said, and that was, American Jews are Democrat first and foremost. Their Jewish religion comes 2nd. Very sad.
For the sake of argument. If American Jews seem so unconcerned with the survival of Israel that they would cast their ballots with Farrakhan’s favorite. Then why should I or anyone else care if Israel survives? Maybe we should cut a deal with the Muzzies. They stay clear of us, and we cut Israel loose to handle things alone. If their own brethren are not willing to stick their necks out, why should the rest of us. From a cold and calculating point of view it would not matter to the USA if Israel survives or not. After many years of being a supporter of Israel, I am starting to feel like a sucker.
There WERE Jews that tried to leave Germany and were refused entry into Britain, South Africa, and, if memory serves, the US.
There were even Jews that had to return to Europe BECAUSE they weren't allowed entry into another country.
That's the history. Getting your knickers in a wad over it won't change the facts.
There were even Jews that had to return to Europe BECAUSE they weren't allowed entry into another country.
Sort-of. As far as I know, no Jews were forced to return to Germany during the 1930s. The Western democracies welcomed Jewish refugees from Hitler, by and large.
Correct. As far as I remember they were forced to return to Europe ... and that is where your point is correct.
I’m a Jew in New York, and I count! ;-p
I find this really interesting in that the older categories of Jews actually support Obama more than the younger ones. So much for the stereotype of the old Jews who won’t vote for an African-American with a Muslim-sounding name...
Btw, a site I’ve found that is conducting some very different polls is www.perspctv.com, which is showing a type of chart measured by the number of mentions each candidate gets in the blogosphere to indicate which is generating the most “buzz”. The comments can be negative or positive, but they still count towards that candidate’s overall reputation becoming more influential. Well worth checking out to get a sense of some of the finer nuances of this crazy election.
This Jew is voting for McCain. So are my mother and two brothers. My father, sadly, passed away this year in Florida. So from what I understand about Acorn, this means he will be voting for Obama.
Regardless of any polls, I believe that Obama will receive the lowest percentage of Jewish vote of any modern-day Democratic presidential candidate.
Just to propaganda the Jewish Community to vote Hussein!!
The Jewish people should be aware of the name Joseph Goebbels, the teacher of Mr. David Axelrod. In likewise "Baghdad Bob" style, he said Hussein will get 400 electoral votes!!!
I predict Obama’s Jewish support DROPS to about 60%.
