For the simple reason Obama is not Kerry and some Kerry voters cast an anti-Bush vote. And Bush is not on the ballot this year.

I’m an optimist, but McCain couldn’t take Kollyfornia if you spotted him Bakersfield, San Mateo, Burbank, and Knotts Berry Farm.

Wow, I’ve heard of voter fraud, but Electoral Vote fraud... that’s really brazen.

Not all of California is Blue. Los Angeles and San Francisco are. McCain will carry San Diego and the inland counties along the Nevada border along with Ventura and SB counties and the northern coast north of Marin.

They will be getting out there to vote yes on prop 8 certainly. The question is whether they can cast that vote and a vote for Obama at the same time and not realize they’re contradicting themselves.

McCain used to be moderately popular in California, and Arnold supports him.

I suspect that in a lot of the state, it’s socially unacceptable to say that you’re voting for McCain, so people will just keep their mouths shut and cast their vote in secret. I’m not sure the polls reflect what’s going to happen.

“McCain will not take the land of Fruits and Nutz.”

Perhaps not but, on the other hand, although I am a die-hard Republican, I would think twice about letting my vote put all three branches of the federal government into the hands of the Republican Party if it had been taken over by fundamentalist theocrats who call themselves Republicans. Is it too far out of the realm of possibility that sane, honest Democrats might not want the Obama wing of the party to control the entire federal government apparatus?

Agreed.
Cali ain’t gonna happen for McCain.
However hopefully Obama has a bit of a fight for it.

The Obama people were expecting lots of early turnout for him. I think they are nervous.

I will admit, I don't think Obama would do anything quite that obvious. On the other hand, I don't think I would have believed he'd do many of the things he's done, so I wouldn't out it past him.

It could also be that Obama’s supporters assume California is in the bag for O and won’t bother to vote in a blue state. Expect this to be even more true on November 4, especially if there’s even the slightest hint of rain or an overcast sky.

Early voting has been a mixed bag. We are neck and neck with the Dems in Florida and Colorado. The Dems have a huge lead in North Carolina and Nevada, though. Not sure why that is.

They need to run ads there about Obama cutting out missile defense when elected and Franks 25% defense spending cuts.

I have said that from way back in the beginning.. people who don’t watch the LA news, for example, have no idea of the tensions that exist between those two groups.

The Vietnamese in SoCal are pretty much Republicans. They had their fill of communism and dont’ forget they feel pretty kindly toward mcCain, too.

The polls had him +10 in New Hampshire on primary election day and the media saying Hillary was going to quit the race and she beat him handily.. People need to ignore polls and just go vote and drag everyone you know to vote, too.

”the results are that 99,000 Republicans have voted and 96,000 Democrats voted. In the mail-in balloting the results so far are that 9,000 Democrats sent in their ballots and that 5,000 Republicans did so. So with nearly 210,000 people having voted, the Democrats have only a 1,000 vote advantage !”

That would mean Republicans are leading at the moment in California. Assuming Republicans vote party line more so then democrats.

I am sure there is more to this.
