Good omens in California

California has begun early voting already as well as mail-in balloting. The number of people who have gone in to vote in person has been extensive. The results so far prove what we had always suspected. The polls are being proven as totally unreliable.

Hussein carries California due to homeless voting in San Fran, and dead people voting in L.A., right? Or is it even remotely possible the Republican ticket wins CA?

If we take California, we’ll take everything. McCain may beat Regan’s numbers.

I’m shocked that it’s this close in California, especially with the early voting.

The coastal ghettos and barrios control the vote in CA, as well as the University towns.

The point here is not that McCain can take Cali but that it points to a trend which, if repeated nationally , would see him safely home.

I am not saying McCain could win CA I live here I know this goofy state but if you really look at the red and blue map of CA it is only the Bay Area and LA County for the most part that has been blue CA has seen alot of RED in outer lining areas. I will pray maybe with Prop 8 the Repubs and others who value marriage will be out and VOTE. I am not really going to have to much hope on CA but it is true THE POLLS LIE, LIE, LIE, LIE

Not really. California typically gets a lot of absentee ballots of Republican and Independent voters. I wouldn't read too much into this article. Obama will take California by at least 10%.

i live in the L.A. area. lot of obama signs, some McCain signs, but a heck of a lot of people with NO SIGNS. I think people are afraid to post who they are for. In which case, McCain could carry the lead?

I’m going to go against conventional wisdom here and say the Un-Messiah will not get the Hispanic vote he and the Dems think he is going to get. Too much in fighting between the blacks and the Hispanics there.

I think his conclusion is astounding that if he is struggling this close in the blue states he'll loose the election! I don't think there are many Hillary defectors in CA that's why I think he'll keep it.

there is one thing that could possibly be affecting this result. There are many hispanics in California. That being said, many of them are Catholic. With the bishops coming out against Obama so vigorously the last week or two, some even saying it is a mortal sin to support a pro choice candidate, maybe there is hope yet? Also, the gay marriage amendment? This was defeated last time on the ballot, and maybe the people are angry its on again?

I do not think we can take this Golden State, but even here in Los Angeles County where I have done calling for McCain, there are a lot of passionate people voting for him. Of all stripes. Making the calls really cheered me up. I only got ONE family who was proudly voting for Obama. About 10% said they were undecided though.

But if its close in a Blue State, what does that say about Obama's national appeal? If he wins by 2% as opposed to 10%, I don't think he can win the election with the popular vote. The CW is he'll win CA this year by 10+. What if the CW about Obama is simply wrong? And if he lost a close election, THAT would be stunning!
