I was shocked to find that the NRA has endorsed Baron Hill for IN-9. This is insane, with a good Republican (Sodrel) who could have been endorsed in a very close election. Granted, Hill has only a 36% rating from the Brady Campaign, but our solid Republican representatives all are down in the single digits (with Pence leading the way with a 0% rating -- way to go Mike!).
GOA gave Hill a D- in their 2007 rating, but apparently the NRA thought he was good for an A in 2008.
I've always been in the "NRA is one of the good guys" camp, but this really chaps my hide. The Sodrel-Hill race will be darn close, and it would be great to get Mike back in DC.
Hill is ahead, Sodrel doesn't need the NRA shooting him in the back.
I urge you to not ever give them money. They want to be bi-partisan they can go ***** themselves. Hill's vote for Pelosi and Obama negates any scant pro-2A feelings he has. Hill is slime. His faux-conservative ilk made Pelosi Speaker.

Morans.
When I phoned them to ask WHY they had endorsed him after his vote I was told “Well he has always supported us in the past.”
I cancelled my lifelong membership with them that day and haven't trusted the NRA since then.
When the NRA smells an Republican defeat in a district and the Dem. is a little bit pro-NRA thats just what they do support the Dem. I don’t like it and I am a Life Member of the NRA!
Could be, but he has a 'B' rating right now. ....and the folks at GOA are very tough graders.
I have to pray about it but I may have to follow you.
The NRA is hedging. They have endorsed many Democrats , usually very Conservative Democrats who are good on the gun issue .
I will continue to give the NRA money . If we see a Democrat wave this election cycle , we will see an unprecedented flurry of draconian gun control proposals .
The NRA is the only group that might be able to stop these coming proposals . I understand what the NRA is doing here .
I think the NRA helps the 2nd Amendment cause by not becoming an arm of the Republican Party. They are a true single issue organization and that means sometimes supporting Democrats that support the 2nd Amendment.

It was a miracle Sodrel won that district the first time, and this will not help.
How did you survive IU all those years being a Conservative? Bloomington is little Moscow IMO.
Oops wrong person.
Maybe but the NRA is too lenient in it’s rankings.
The NRA is going with the better candidate.
The plan is to get more pro gun dems into the party so we no longer have this us vs. them mentality.
For everyone else on this thread, please give your support to the NRA to defeat obama. The NRA is spending forty million dollars to defeat obama with commercials in key battleground states. Please help.
They need to change their policy. It would be easy to change it to "we endorse all candidates who support the second amendment". Here in my district, they are endorsing rat Nick Lampson rather than conservative republican Pete Olson. They should put out a press release that both are staunch NRA supporters. A voter can choose between the candidates on other issues, but for gun rights, the NRA can endorse both.
It gets particularly bad for senate candidates. A rat who is pro NRA, but who votes against strict constitutionalist judges is, in effect, anti 2nd amendment. It's like Dingy Harry being "pro-life" while he votes only for liberal pro-choice judges.
The NRA gave him an A; the GOA gave him a B. Very close. Apparently both orgs agree that Hill is pro 2A.
The goa doesn’t do anything other than send out emails and sell tshirts. The NRA and the Second Amendment Foundation are the ones who have filed all the lawsuits after Heller.
Joining the SAF will help win the lawsuits in Chicago and Oak Park Illinois.
The NRA is trying to maintain a non-partisan image. If they only backed Republicans, they would be seen as partisan.
Remember the NRA is a one issue interest group. They make decisions based on the 2nd Amendment, period.
There are 2nd Amendment Dems out there. I don’t know this specific race but your NRA magazines usually give a blurb on why a person is endorsed in your specific congressional district.
This is going to be a washout of Republicans in Congress, if it is close between the two people, they may be hedging to cover their ass for the assaults that will surely come from the radical socialists. They will need allies to protect gun rights.
If it is not a close call on the 2nd amendment issues, I’d be very angry...which the Brady info you posted, seems to say.
Hell, the NRA has given the rat traitor, Murtha, an “A” rating!!!!
