Ok this isn't a news article, I couldn't find one about it but the NRA has backed several Indiana rat congressman including the only one who might lose, Baron Hill who faces much more pro-gun former Congressman Mike Sodrel. They spent their money to put up a Hill billboard!

Hill is ahead, Sodrel doesn't need the NRA shooting him in the back.

I urge you to not ever give them money. They want to be bi-partisan they can go ***** themselves. Hill's vote for Pelosi and Obama negates any scant pro-2A feelings he has. Hill is slime. His faux-conservative ilk made Pelosi Speaker.

I stopped being a member of the NRA after they endorsed House Representative Bud Cramer (D) of Alabama AFTER he had voted FOR the Brady Bill!

When I phoned them to ask WHY they had endorsed him after his vote I was told “Well he has always supported us in the past.”

I cancelled my lifelong membership with them that day and haven't trusted the NRA since then.

When the NRA smells an Republican defeat in a district and the Dem. is a little bit pro-NRA thats just what they do support the Dem. I don’t like it and I am a Life Member of the NRA!

GOA gave Hill a D- in their 2007 rating,

Could be, but he has a 'B' rating right now. ....and the folks at GOA are very tough graders.

The NRA is hedging. They have endorsed many Democrats , usually very Conservative Democrats who are good on the gun issue .

I will continue to give the NRA money . If we see a Democrat wave this election cycle , we will see an unprecedented flurry of draconian gun control proposals .

The NRA is the only group that might be able to stop these coming proposals . I understand what the NRA is doing here .

I think the NRA helps the 2nd Amendment cause by not becoming an arm of the Republican Party. They are a true single issue organization and that means sometimes supporting Democrats that support the 2nd Amendment.

I was shocked to find that the NRA has endorsed Baron Hill for IN-9. This is insane, with a good Republican (Sodrel) who could have been endorsed in a very close election.

I’ve always been in the “NRA is one of the good guys” camp, but this really chaps my hide. The Sodrel-Hill race will be darn close, and it would be great to get Mike back in DC.

It was a miracle Sodrel won that district the first time, and this will not help.
How did you survive IU all those years being a Conservative? Bloomington is little Moscow IMO.

The NRA is going with the better candidate.

The plan is to get more pro gun dems into the party so we no longer have this us vs. them mentality.

For everyone else on this thread, please give your support to the NRA to defeat obama. The NRA is spending forty million dollars to defeat obama with commercials in key battleground states. Please help.

I about passed out when I received an orange post card from the NRA saying that they were endorsing Kirsten Gillibrand (NY-20). WTF are they doing? This must be a fake mailing from the 0bama crowd.

See below where Gillibrand endorsed Hillary for prez. They’re very chummy which has to make you wonder.

The “R” in NRA stands for “Rifle”, not “Republican”.

the NRA will always endorse the candidate (that is the incumbent) if they have a pro-gun record. I had a friend who ran for a state senate in NC. He had and A rating from the NRA but the Democrat got and A plus (and he was a member). The challenger was not. They asked the challenger if he wanted to join the NRA and he didn’t. The NRA backed the incumbent Democrat. I’m also a member of the NRA.

The NRA has also endorsed Nick Lampson (D) in TX-22. We’re trying to get him out. He may be OK on gun issues but he’s still a rat.
