Mary Mapes, the former CBS News Sixty Minutes producer who lost her job in the wake of the Rathergate scandal has published an essay entitled The Monster is Dying at the Huffington Post celebrating the pending victory of Barack Obama and the demise of her conservative internet tormenters, including Free Republic.
Mapes likens the domination of conservatives and the McCain-Palin campaign to Fifties sci-fi flicks where the mad scientist gets it in the end but the pretty female assistant survives.
Mapes, who was fired after forged documents were used in a Sixty Minutes hit piece on President George W. Bush in September 2004 in an effort by CBS News to undermine Bush's re-election bid, mocks Republicnas for using "phony" imagery and "bogeymen."
An excerpt from Mapes' gloat-fest:
Americans aren't responding to the old plays -- the fake fears, the faux outrage, the conservatives who yell "Communist" at the news cameras, the pompous right-wing bloggers who once held such sway.
I know all too well how scary and effective these old tactics were in 2004.
Today, they are toothless.
Ha, ha.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing once swaggering players like Powerline, Free Republic and Little Green Footballs forced onto the sidelines, left to limply watch this campaign pass by like a parade in which they play no meaningful part.
They just don't matter anymore.
More added to the red list.
JimRob will need faster servers, again.
She has a face made for radio.
Actually looks like a real life Lisa Simpson.
Don't worry your pretty (/sarc) little head about us. You see, if "OBAMAMessiah" is elected with a bullet proof majority in the senate and house to back him...the American People will wake from their long slumber (and collective idiocy)...much like they did in 1980.
Why? Because socialist love power...and once they have absolute power...they won't be able to control themselves. They will wreck this beloved country and you will have a full scale revolt on your hands.
FreeRepublic will be the launchpad of that revolution and you and your socialist pals will be out on their collective cans toot-sweet. Along with this rousting of socialists...it is my hope that we also take out a few RINO's with you.
So....rest assured...you and your type will be their own demise because left unchecked you won't be able to help yourselves...and what you TRULY are will be revealed to the American People...who up until now are too concerned about Brittany and the sport of their choice to pay attention.
Mary Mapes was the tingle ( or was that tinkle?) that ran down Dan Rather’s leg. Now the only job she could get is changing Dan’s Depends!
Translation: Nothing makes me happy anymore.
It’s hard to watch someone with such inferiority issues struggle so desperately for relevance. I’d try to have a little pity for her, but she’s got the “pity for Mapes” market covered all by herself.
Well, this article is definite proof that there never was a bit if bias in Mary’s reporting. </sarcasm>
She doesn’t have a pretty little head
Mary Mapes is homely
To Funny
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Let me put her name down in my "libtard heads to watch explode on November 5 2008 book". Damn, my little book is all full up.....hahahahahahahahahahaha!
Consider the logic of the situation Mary Mapes has created for herself: either she knew the Bush memos were fakes or she didn't know. If she didn't know, she's not smart enough to have been doing the job she was being paid to do; if she knew, she's still not smart enough to have been doing the job she was being paid to dofor thinking she could get away with foisting fakes off on the publicand, in addition, she's completely lacking in scruples.
Each time Mapes makes a noise in public, she reminds us of these alternatives.
Keep talking, Mary...
Yeah, we know, Mary. We all know your anal discharges don’t stink.
Mary Mapes, you are a last-place loser.
From CBS to blogging “ha-ha’s” at websites you don’t like. Wow. Sucks to be you Mapes.
Wacky pedia
Mapes was faulted for calling Joe Lockhart, a senior official in the John Kerry campaign, prior to the airing of the piece, and offering to put her source, Bill Burkett, in touch with him with regards to the then raging Swift Boat ads attacking Kerry’s service in Vietnam. The panel called Mapes action a “clear conflict of interest that created the appearance of political bias.” Mapes was terminated by CBS on January 10, 2005.
