A young John McCain campaign volunteer has claimed a knife-wiedling robber attacked her and carved a 'B' onto her face when he realised she supported the Republican presidential candidate.
Ashley Todd, a 20-year-old from of College Station, Texas, told police she was attacked while trying to withdraw money from an ATM in Pittsburgh and, when the robber saw a McCain bumper sticker on her car, he punched her, pushed her to the ground and carved a ‘B’ into her cheek.
"He continued to kick and punch her repeatedly and said he would teach her a lesson for supporting John McCain," said Pittsburgh police chief Nate Harper.
Miss Todd reported the incident to Pittsburgh police but refused medical attention. An officer saw the bizarre injury on her face but the police report did not describe its size or severity.
According to the report, Miss Todd said she was robbed at knifepoint while withdrawing money on Wednesday evening and gave the man $60. However, when he saw a bumper sticker on her car supporting the Republican presidential candidate, he reportedly yelled: "You are one of those McCain people."
The attacker then punched her in the back of the head, knocked her down and used the knife to carve a "B" on the right side of her face before fleeing on foot, Miss Todd told police.

Show me an ATM where someone can be robbed where the perp is within eyesight of the back of the victim’s car.
Show me a perp that takes longer to get away after already getting the victim’s money by going back to make a political statement.

Right, hoax or not the media report everything about her by tomorrow afternoon but they won’t tell the general public anything about Obama’s lowlife friends and associates.

There was a woman knocked down and beaten holding a McCain sign. That man was arrested, but we don't even hear about that incident.
Drudge didn't do us any favors when he said she was mutilated. That was a little strong for those light scratches on her face. It looks like the scratches will go away in a week or so.
Ashley blogs as a college Republican, but she could be a Democrat. I don't think so though, just a troubled young woman who wanted the publicity.
Agreed. This is simply another Ayers/Wright/birth certificate rat hole, down which far too many FReepers appear perfectly willing to flush time, energies and attention more profitably spent on persuading still-undecided voters out there re: the issues genuinely and legitimately germane to same; most particularly, the economy.
Anyone know how long it takes from the time a blow is delivered until the bruising shows up?
Someone delivered blows to her face but who? Has she had problems with a boyfriend? A drug buy gone bad? Fight with a roommate?
After this story broke yesterday, I saw the photo on Drudge.
My first thought was....WTH????
The B is not “carved”in,it’s scratched in-backwards.
This has “hoax” written all over it!
Or if, as she reportedly states, he was sitting on her chest and pinning her hands, the B would still be as in the photo if he were reaching around to the right side of her face with his right hand. His elbow would be at the top of her head.

This concept is so obvious to me...but thanks for making it clear to everyone else. What gives me a little more certain the story is real are the stray lines. A person doing it to herself would probably not have gone through the extra pain of cutting unnecessary marks.
