Police departments in cities across the country are beefing up their ranks for Election Day, preparing for possible civil unrest and riots after the historic presidential contest.
Public safety officials said in interviews with The Hill that the election, which will end with either the nations first black president or its first female vice president, demanded a stronger police presence.
Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations. Others based the need for enhanced patrols on past riots in urban areas (following professional sports events) and also on Internet rumors.

A big reason so many places have wanted to have pictures on ballots instead of only names.
Stupid is as stupid does I guess.
Got to remember that liberalism is a mental disorder.
If Hussein wins, I’m going to riot.
I’m going to find a group of like minded beer drinking clingers, and we are gonna raise hell on a dirt road somewhere. No ground hog will be safe!!!
Like shouldn’t they be afraid we will riot if Obama wins... hey rioting is a two way street. ha.
You’d think people would have learned by now that all riots do is ruin the rioters neighborhoods and chases off all the merchants. So once it’s all over they end up having a much longer trip to the food store indefinately.
The BIG DIFFERENCE is that there WILL BE RESPONSES by both police military-style swat teams and the NG could also be called in to suppress any rioting, unlike in Kenya.
If Barrack Hussein 0Bama is POTUS,we will have the
CCCP ( Communist Conformation Compelling Police )
based on ACORN, the Weathermen and other thugs.
"We be disenfranchised!!!" ...with Sharpton, Jackson, and the other usual suspects fanning the flames. Expect the same old rhetoric, claiming intimidation at polling places, roadblocks in the 'hood, diebold voting machine fixes, etc. But this time the alleged "disenfrachised" voters' emotions will be far more invested in the outcome.
Even James Carville himself, a devoted lib predicted rioting if Obama losses the election.
Plus, given our 2nd amendment rights, the violence will be limited to those areas where there are bans on the owning of firearms....
So do I, first thing you see when you drive into town is the shotgun range... we have no LEO,& crime is REALLY low in our area... wonder why that is.. LOL
I always knew Democrats were loose but who is Will?
...And if Obama wins, expect ALSO A BLOODY CIVIL WAR which would “sink” his presidency.
from his tactical advantage it would be the best thing for Hillary and he knows it. I don’t necessarily agree, but a more (if that’s possible) divided electorate would cause obambi to be a one termer and give her a shot at ‘12?
“....NG could also be called in to suppress any rioting, unlike in Kenya...”
I remember the non-response during the Rodney King LA riots. I won’t hold my breath hoping for a stronger response this time.
Having said that, I say, let them burn their neighborhoods and live in the ashes.
No money from me or you to rebuild.
I’ll ‘see’ your ‘White Riot’ and raise you a ‘White Snake’ lyric, LOL! :)
There is a big difference, the non response was because of fear by the LAPD over the aquitial of the cops in the Rodney King beating trial. This time, in a post-9/11 world violence of that nature will not be tolerated. Plus police swat teams are trained like more in the military style. Plus there is the NG backup factor.
There is a saying in Texas:
“One Riot, One Ranger.”
History is filled with accounts of legendary Texas Rangers
who brought law and order to towns torn by blood feuds,
and Rangers who fought bravely against bands of outlaws
and Indian war parties to protect the citizens of Texas.
Time and again, they proved that one person in the right
could triumph over even the greatest odds.
