Senator Bingaman (D-NM) Comments on the Fairness Doctrine.
October 21, 2008
From the site: NEW MEXICO SENATOR JEFF BINGAMAN COMMENTS ON THE JIM VILLANUCCI SHOW ABOUT THE FAIRNESS DOCTORINE AND HOW IT COULD AFFECT YOUR LISTENING AT 770 KKOB.
At least their honest...
God what is this country coming to?
GET THIS TO LIMBAUGH ASAP!
Fairness Doctrine update!
more please - can’t do streaming in my office
This is disgusting. Censorship and Socialism march hand in hand....along with hatred and conceit.
“I think”, “I feel”, “It should be”; such liberal tripe.
Tell us WHY the Fairness Doctrine is right; not how you FEEL about it.
Revolution-worthy
I guess I turned him off to soon yesterday scary stuff.
Totalitarianism and socialism march hand in hand - they have to.
There is no such thing as “benign socialism”.
Wealth redistribution, punitive taxation on success, shutting up any opposing voices -— Welcome to ObamaWorld, land of no hope and less change in your pocket!
- Bingaman says he hopes Fairness Doctrine is re-imposed.
- He wants ‘balanced’ perspective in all points of view.
- Radio host tells him that there’s NPR, Air America, satellite radio, etc. with millions of viewpoints, and Bingaman says that radio and media should ‘have a higher calling’ and that it should not just reflect a particular point of view.
- Stations should have an informed discussion of the issues.
- Bingaman said that the airwaves are owned by private companies, and that’s the way it should be — but that the country is best served with the Fairness Doctrine and that the population was more intelligent when the Fairness Doctrine was used.
It should be shouted loud and to the corners of the country:
The left intends to silence any dissenting opinions,
BECAUSE THEIR IDEOLOGY IS INDEFENSIBLE.
Host says “you’d want this station to change?” He says in response to the host, “Yes I want this station and all stations to present a balanced perspective and different points of view instead of always hammering away at one political uh, uh....”
Host says “In this market for instance we’ve got KKOB, NPR, Air America, if you have satellite you have a “lefty” station and a “righty” station. Do you think there are people that aren’t able to find a viewpoint that’s in synch with what they believe?”
Bingaman says “Radio & media in general should have a HIGHER CALLING rather than just reflecting a particular point of view. They should use their authority and broadcast power to present an informed discussion of public issues. You know KKOB used to live under the fairness doctrine.” Host: “Yeah, we played music.”
Bingaman “Well there was a lot of talk it seemed to me.” blah blah about broadcast stations are privately owned.
“All I’m saying is for many, many years we operated under the fairness doctrine and we were well served. The discussion was at a higher level and more intelligent in those days than it has become since.” End.
...And the MORE likelyhood of a civil war.
Thank God that Chrissy Pissy will be off the air. I can’t wait until NBCCBSABCCNN programming is forced to be balanced.
If you want on or off the NM Ping list, please FReepmail me.
Access to the ping list is available to anyone by going to my FR home page.
All they will just do is drive conservitive talk to satilite, internet radio streaming and podcasting. The will still LOSE OUT BIG.
