- Bingaman says he hopes Fairness Doctrine is re-imposed.

- He wants ‘balanced’ perspective in all points of view.

- Radio host tells him that there’s NPR, Air America, satellite radio, etc. with millions of viewpoints, and Bingaman says that radio and media should ‘have a higher calling’ and that it should not just reflect a particular point of view.

- Stations should have an informed discussion of the issues.

- Bingaman said that the airwaves are owned by private companies, and that’s the way it should be — but that the country is best served with the Fairness Doctrine and that the population was more intelligent when the Fairness Doctrine was used.

I worked in radio when the fairness doctrine was in force. This was before talk radio. The bottom line was we HAD to sell airtime to any candidate at the lowest price on the rate sheet.

So my question is: If I bought a 30 minute block and espoused conservatism the only thing the station would be required to do is sell a 30 minute block to a liberal. Am I right?

If I am, Rush could “buy” 3 hours of time from every station and pay them what they would have earned selling ads. He would collect all the money he makes selling ads. If the liberals wanta’ cough up the money the stations wouldn’t mind one bit.

“population was more intelligent when the Fairness Doctrine was used.”

In the same way that the government “knows better” than I what to do with my own money and that access to energy is “more efficient” when it is properly regulated by federal agencies and that my children will receive a “more well-rounded” education in public schools and individual pro-lifers are radical racketering organizations who will be “suitably handled” under federal RICO legislation.

This stuff is creepy and dark.

The second amendment and net neutrality is next on the agenda!

Better get your game on!
