would anyone be able to speculate as to why this would have happened yesterday or today?
It is insane and while CNN has absolutely no mention of this - they do mention that 3 out of 4 Americans are scared about the direction of our country. They need to mention where the Obama direction will definitely lead to - according to Biden. Other pro-obama news is that the world wants Obama 4-1. I could care less what ‘The rest of the world” wants. This is our country! And instead of posting what ‘The World’ wants, maybe some more publicity that the US Military wants McCain as CIC, as opposed to Obama 23%. That is more important than how the French feel.

Why it continues to surprise me, I don’t know.
But, you know - I’ve been enjoying Lou Dobbs, he’s probably the only independent minded one that I can think of on CNN. And other than him, I avoid CNN as much as possible since I don’t enjoy the feeling of frustration.
I hope she’s ok and prayers for her, but, if she’s in fact ‘gravely ill’, why didn’t he leave yesterday or the day before?? In addition to what others have said, perhaps a sympathy ploy, and, I’ve also been thinking that he needs some time to practice for his 1/2hr 0bama noinfommercial next week.

My comment had nothing to do with McCain (I was only quoting the previous poster).
As I said, I believe Obama is going to visit his sick Grandmother but chose this time only partly because of her illness. I believe he is going to meet with lawyers (DNC and local) to attempt to stop/stomp efforts to get his whole birth record released.

Seems really strange to me that she is critical enough that he has to take off and see her on Thursday and Friday, but she is not ill enough that he needs to see her now!!!
If she were the grandmother of the republican candidate the NYT would have gone thru that old woman's garbage umpteen hundred times by now and MSNBC would have a permanent satellite station set up on her front porch!...and both would have bugged her phone!
