"Today, we live in a far different environment. My generation, the self-indulgent "me" generation, has had a profound effect on much around us. Rarely do we hear a message of sacrifice -- unless it is a justification for more taxation and transfers of wealth to others. Nor do we hear from leaders or politicians the message that there is something larger and more important than the government providing for all of our needs and wants -- large and small. The message today seems more like: Ask not what you can do for yourselves or your country, but what your country must do for you.

The left doesnt have a truthful (Biblical) worldview, and sees man as perfectable, if only the right institutions are given enough power.
I disagree with this in part, based on the many liberals I know. Their quest is not perfection, as they will admit that they have their faults. This leaves two scenarios...this is from the liberals themselves, mind you.
1. Mankind will undergo another sudden evolutionary change that will bring him closer to perfection. (I'm not kidding, I know people who believe this)
2. They have redefined good and evil. Good comes from the government; those who oppose such a evolution are evil. This godless system will eventually weaken all churches by revoking their tax exempt status. As the government proved that churches were not necessary to care for the poor, evidenced by welfare, the Churches now serve no purpose other than some impossible-to-prove belief - therefore false belief. The churches should not receive any favors from government.
If the Socialists get the power they want, the lessons of history instruct us to fear for our lives and property.
Maybe the Pina Colada is ALREADY in her hand, and thats whats causing her perception to be so skewed.
No. That's not Pina Colada talk. That's ThirdGlassofGlenlivet talk!
Thanks.
“enjoy life with a Pina Colada in your hand.”
That may be the problem. Too many with the wrong company.
“They have redefined good and evil. “
Definitely. This is what “postmodernism” is all about. The definition of good & evil for people of this worldview doesn’t necessarily come from gov’t, though. Each person defines what is right and wrong, within their own “ethics”. Of course, then, EVERYONE is a “good person” because they inherently define right and wrong to be in alignment with how they want to live their lives anyway.
0bama even voiced this once: “Sin is being out of alignment with MY values” (emphasis added)
Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Good article by him, but it could have been longer with more information. That’s how I used to write essays in school. Hard to start, get into the body, then abruptly end it.
A glass to me means 1/4” below the rim of the glass, not 1/2” of liquid.
Then again, I drink any liquid like a fish, whether it’s water or beer...
Thanks for the PING!
ping for your “nailed it” series?
So, for you, glasses are functional, not decorations or adornments.
In my years I was a half-filled glass of Jack Daniels man...a few commercial (clear) ice cubes were the timer; I had to finish the drink before they were 50% of their original size.
This was an excerpt from a speech he gave on Thursday. I’ll keep my eyes open for the full text then ping y’all when it’s up.
Yes, they’re functional, I need them or contact lenses so I can see.
I was just saying it seemed like the article was hastily put together. At least to me, it didn’t flow from one subject to the next.
I agree, its excellent. I’d prefer to ping when the whole lecture becomes available. Would you let me know, please? You mentioned you are going to monitor for it.
Thanks
I’ll let you know!
