A glass to me means 1/4” below the rim of the glass, not 1/2” of liquid.

Then again, I drink any liquid like a fish, whether it’s water or beer...

In my years I was a half-filled glass of Jack Daniels man...a few commercial (clear) ice cubes were the timer; I had to finish the drink before they were 50% of their original size.
