I would like to get my observation out to as many folks as possible in the hopes of countering the subliminal message of the O'Bama signs.

I read an article a few days ago on FR about O'Bama's use of hypnotic suggestion in his speeches. Apparently he holds his fingers the same way someone holds a pencil to emphasize his points. This is supposed to anchor O'Bama in someone's mind when they see fingers held that way. When you are standing over your ballot getting ready to vote, you will see your fingers the same way O'Bama holds his fingers when speaking to you and this sight will trigger O'Bama to come to your mind. I then noticed that O'Bama's signs when looked at from a distance, actually have a filled in circle next to his name. Each sign is establishing a visual picture of a filled in circle with pencil like shading. When you stand over your ballot, and see O'Bama's name with a circle next to it, the visual impressions of the signs will suggest to fill in the circle next to the name. In fact the red color in the circle of the sign is designed to attract the most attention to that part of the message, which in this case is the circle.

We have a candidate that is using hypnotic suggestion on a mass basis. On reflection, I'm not sure we can rely on typical models of turnout or the Bradley effect.

How many billions are spent on advertising every year — this stuff works.

Whether Team Obama is purposefully using these techniques to the ends suggested in this thread is the real question.

Only problem is that my state doesn’t use a pencil, you set a bunch of small levers and then pull the handle to lock in your vote.

I appreciate you think its over the top. I thought the finger pointing was too until I realized what the sign is doing. There is no question that the sign is making a connection to a ballot filled in for o'Bama.

I would be okay if it were done traditionally like the big check mark but this subliminal message is really sneaky.

And yes, I know to the Freepers who read this the idea of being manipulated to vote by subliminal messages is impossible. However, the undecided voter who changes his or her mind based on the last TV ad they watched can be strongly affected.

People’s reactions to my opposition of an 0bama presidency. Maybe it is because I am in a lib. heavy environment, but the reactions are bordering on intimidation and follow the order to, “get in their faces.” One 0bamabot got right up to me within inches of my nose. One minute we were talking, not even debating, the next she was nose to nose with me.

The ‘hate Palin’ effect is over the top. Bush had it bad, this Palin effect is violent. I worry for her and her family.
