Rush Limbaugh said Colin Powell's decision to get behind Barack Obama appeared to be very much tied to Obama's status as the first African-American with a chance to become president.
"Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race," Limbaugh wrote in an e-mail. "OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with."
As for Powell's statement of concern this morning about the sort of Supreme Court justices a President McCain might appoint, Limbaugh wrote: "I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making him a four-star [general] and secretary of state and appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let's hear it for transformational figures."

I'd be damned surprised if he didn't.
I used to admire the man as he appeared to have a presence commanding respect.
Now that he is opening his mouth and going along with his race rather than his principles, Powell is exposed as just another pitiful person who has no backbone to keep this country from becoming fractured by the Obamamonster.
The ill feeling this country’s citizens will have for a black catapulting this country down the tortuous path of socialism will not be readily forgotten.
Thanks, general Powell. You did your country no service today.
No more questions after Powell endorsement, says Biden
[Biden is the old, white, liberal Powell has endorsed, but both act inexperienced]

As far as I'm concerned, Colon and David Duke are both officially kicked! Neither are even close to being fit to call themselves Republicans.
I repudiate them both...for the same reason.
McCain campaign reply...
“We thank General Powell for his service and leadership to our country”... “We thank General Powell for his $2300 donation to our campaign”... “We’re disappointed that General Powell has decided to vote for our opponent SOLEY on the color of his skin”... “I’m sure it will be ‘electrifying’ to pull the lever for him in November”...
Why won’t Powell just admit it? You’re now one of the 95% of Blacks that wants to vote for someone who looks like you even if you differ from him on many points... sad...
Always thought Powell was a Democrat. He never had Bush’s best intersts in mind or the country for that matter.

I’m from England but now live here and the racism and hatred I have seen is all from the black community
Now they think they have a non white person nearly president they are getting very sure of themselves,
us white boys will now be their slaves, white bi$$$$ will be for them.
they think they will get reparations cheques
sad thing is that they have the double standard and sadly while we keep things like black bike week, black caucus, black colleges black this and black that there will always be this double standard
We have the Bradley effect, and now we have the Powell effect.
I think I will bet on Bradley.
His endorsement did not surprise me. Powell was involved in The U.N. Millenium Assembly and Summit, which, if I recall, correctly, promoted “civil society” representation by NGOs working toward global government and religion. I thought it was very strange at the time.
So, Colin Powell must be getting even for when George Bush told him to select a more qualified commander for Desert Storm instead of the 2nd Lt. Powell originally endorsed.
Is this the same Powell who ‘misplaced’ an atomic cannon shell earlier in his career?
Try reading his book. It is all about “race” in one form or the other. I could not even finish it and have since tossed it in the trash. I didn’t give it to a second hand book store. I figured one of us already wasting money too buy it was enough.
Correction: He lost his weapon while guarding (in charge) the 280 atomic shell during transfer..
