Liberals pretend that only President Bush is preventing the U.S. from adopting some global warming "solution." But occasionally their mask slips. As Barack Obama's energy adviser has now made clear, the would-be President intends to blackmail -- or rather, greenmail -- Congress into falling in line with his climate agenda. [Review & Outlook] AP
Jason Grumet is currently executive director of an outfit called the National Commission on Energy Policy and one of Mr. Obama's key policy aides. In an interview last week with Bloomberg, Mr. Grumet said that come January the Environmental Protection Agency "would initiate those rulemakings" that classify carbon as a dangerous pollutant under current clean air laws. That move would impose new regulation and taxes across the entire economy, something that is usually the purview of Congress. Mr. Grumet warned that "in the absence of Congressional action" 18 months after Mr. Obama's inauguration, the EPA would move ahead with its own unilateral carbon crackdown anyway.
Well, well. For years, Democrats -- including Senator Obama -- have been howling about the "politicization" of the EPA, which has nominally been part of the Bush Administration. The complaint has been that the White House blocked EPA bureaucrats from making the so-called "endangerment finding" on carbon. Now it turns out that a President Obama would himself wield such a finding as a political bludgeon. He plans to issue an ultimatum to Congress: Either impose new taxes and limits on carbon that he finds amenable, or the EPA carbon police will be let loose to ravage the countryside.

That’s good but an “or else” would really drive home the point....:)
“Fair Allocation of Resources,” also known as “rationing,” will happen under 0bama. Electricity first, then gasoline. Medical treatment, education and finally food will follow.
Obama won’t care that the “global warming” scam has been debunked. We’re going to “fight” it anyway! We’re doing it for his buddy, Algore who has spent a fortune of his own money promoting “global warming.” Al deserves some kind of return on his investment.
So, instead of a horse's head, we will wake up with a V8 Hemi in our bed.
Carbon tax, EPA police, non-secret Union balloting, vastly higher corporate taxes, higher capital gains taxes, bigger insurance regulations.
How fast would the smokestack industry collapse?
This kind of carbon dictatorship would be ruinous even in a strong economy.
In a recessionary economy, it will be a disaster unlike any we’ve seen, including the Great Depression.

The inmates would truly be running the asylum.

Uh huh, and how's he going to do this? I predict we'll all get national ID cards, but we won't need them to vote, just to get gas, health care and food. And Oh, permission to travel.
i wish i saved threads. was there not a statement by obama earlier this year about having to be careful about where we set our heat at and how much food we ate?
How about, refuse you won't be able to offer?
We’re going to be in trouble, very serious trouble if this radical communist and totalitarian bastard wins. The US will be brought to her knees by this traitor...
You bet. They will scan your card when you use it. If you don’t have enough “credits” the sale will not be processed. There will be huge penalties for exceeding your monthly kw/hr allotment.
I see lines for insufficient and shoddy goods, and a flourishing black market. As well as a population drunk and/or stoned that doesn’t give a damn. Like another country we all remember.
I was going to say that he could blow it out his a**, but that would involved methane, which is supposed to be a more serious greenhouse gas.
BTTT.
Of course the methane hype is nonsense, it degrades itself in the atmosphere. It has a half life and does not accumulate.
But it provides a (fictional) rational for taking over the livestock and meat industries.
