Rush Limbaugh responds to Powell Obambi endorsement (because he's black)
Time ^ | 10/19/2008 | Mark Halperin

Posted on 10/19/2008 11:14:56 AM PDT by nobamanada

Rush Limbaugh to Politico on Powell's Endorsement "Rush Limbaugh suggested Powell's move was very much related to Obama's status as the first African-American with a chance to become president." "'Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race,' Limbaugh wrote in an email. 'OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with.'" "'I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making HIM a 4-star and Secretary of State AND appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let's hear it for transformational figures.'"

As far as I can tell, Powell has always been liberal. The only thing that suprises me about this endorsement is remembering the way he was treated by the race-monger black establishment when he was active in the Bush administration. He must be a very forgiving person.

Powell’s endorsement is irrelevant anyway. If you are so stupid you select a candidate on the basis of an endorsement you are probably voting for Obama anyway.

Well, I considered that. When people disagree with me on many points which I consider to be glaringly obvious - “global warming,” for example - I often wonder if they’re simply not very bright.

The chattering classes have decided, amongst themselves, that the election is over. We will now see the conservative elites separate themselves into the principled conservatives and those who put a shiv into Palin as a way of currying favour with what they believe will be the New Order.

"...its clear that Powell is a liberal. Obama is the liberal candidate. Why make it more then it is."

Because consecutive Republican administrations ignorantly attempted to make him the next great hope.
They assumed that because he was willing to call himself a Republican he was worthy of promotion, hype, and nepotism.
They assumed that he'd eventually do something to justify their hopes, maybe even step up to a presidential nomination on a Pubby ticket.

He has so successfully proved them wrong that the right is far less able to support Secretary Rice (who once enjoyed the same status as did powell) and the left is far more able to decry Justice Thomas.

That's "post racial" I guess.

Palin has more experience than Obama.

Powell picks BHO because it’s a black thing. Sure, I understand it...but don’t try to say that isn’t what it is.

George Bush was a Governor and ran the state of Texas. He is conservative on some issues and liberal on others but hardly can be summed up “very liberal”. Lumping him in the same category with Obama is ludicrous.

You need a different FReeper name. :-)

“We will now see the conservative elites separate themselves into the principled conservatives and those who put a shiv into Palin as a way of currying favour with what they believe will be the New Order.”

Well said. It wasn’t enough for the self proclaimed Hero to help Zero by publically endorsing him he had to stick it to Palin saying she was not ready to lead. I wonder what he received for this endorsement. I just hope and pray we all live to see the day of Nov. 4 McCain and Palin receive their respect and America understands how we are being manipulated, lied and corrupted by donations abroad, election attempted to be stolen via ACORN/Obama....and our team wins in spite of so many obstacles.

Also possible that Powell takes Biden seriously when he says the Obama administration will go after the Bush administration for "war crimes."

Joe Biden said that? What the hell?!

Link, please?

That would be the ultimate Left orgasm -- to deliver up a conservative U.S. president to an international, Red, war-crimes "tribunal" (kangaroo court).

And Biden is a former chairman of the Judiciary Committee. Presumably, he knows the Constitution.

have a black friend who is also a homeschooling Christian conservative mom like me, who is so excited about the first black man to be President, she is voting for Obama. I just stared at her when she told me. I truly am shocked. Maybe that makes me naive.

Only God knows if she is truly Christian.

However, perhaps you have been naive. No more so than many other Americans. Many times people won't realize something's wrong until the knife is in their back.

For instance, were you aware that by the Department of Justice crime stats, that in 2005 there were 37,000 rapes of white women by black men. 0 (zero!) of black women by white men.

If this post is the first time you've become aware of that statistic. You might ask yourself why such horrible amount of crime has been ignored both by the politicians and the media.

But don't worry, it will get better under an Obama administration I'm sure.

We all know the truth that's not politically correct to mention: Powell endorsed Obambi because he was black.

Ironically, Powell would NEVER have been where is today if he had belonged to the democRATic party???

However, to be a RINO was enough to elevate him!!!

“Rush was a pure Bushbot when Bush picked Powell. Bush should have NEVER picked a lib like Powell. For Rush to interject the black “thang” now is just stupid.”

That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Because Rush liked Bush and Bush picked Colon, Rush can’t say anything about Colon actions this weekend? So, Colon should now get a pass for ANYTHING he does?

....the conservative elites separate themselves into the principled conservatives and those who put a shiv into Palin as a way of currying favour with what they believe will be the New Order.

The Chris Buckleys and Brookses have been shanking Palin enthusiastically on their own accord because she's a threat to their ownership of the GOP.

They mostly work for the Wall Street Wing of the party, fronted by Manor Bush and the people clustered around e.g. Bob Dole's campaign and, this year, Mitt Romney's and then McCain's, when Romney failed to ignite.

They thoroughly dislike social conservatives and are liberals at heart who simply know how to add up their own bank balances and resist tax-raisers. That's what those guys are all about. That is what they were about 45 years ago, when Theodore White was sticking ice picks in the conservatives in his Making of the President series and calling the Wall Street Wing "the best of their kind" or some similar claptrap.

What is happening now is that they see McCain weakening and their own future going away with McCain's advancement of Sarah Palin. They recognize that she is the future of the GOP, not they. They fought back after the conservatives brought the beef to the table in 1994 by winning the Congress; they can't survive another leadership challenge by a gifted social conservative like Palin, who is this Republican generation's Newt, Rush, and Maggie Thatcher all rolled into one. Hell, she could be the next Ronald Reagan.

So they are shanking her bigtime, and their shanking and shivving will be duly remembered.

Is anybody really surprised. Powell wasn’t really that conservative as Secretary of State.
