Rush Limbaugh responds to Powell Obambi endorsement (because he's black)
Time ^ | 10/19/2008 | Mark Halperin

Posted on 10/19/2008 11:14:56 AM PDT by nobamanada

Rush Limbaugh to Politico on Powell's Endorsement "Rush Limbaugh suggested Powell's move was very much related to Obama's status as the first African-American with a chance to become president." "'Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race,' Limbaugh wrote in an email. 'OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with.'" "'I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making HIM a 4-star and Secretary of State AND appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let's hear it for transformational figures.'"

What makes you think that country would even be 2nd on the list.

Bush was an idiot for appointing him as SOS.

I always thought that he was appointed SecDef as a link to wider political groups that supported 41, and as a pedagogue for Condi, until she was ready for a cabinet job herself.

I thought Colin Powell was Jamaican-American.

Obama is Arab-American.

Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya , his father's family was mainly Arabs. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro). From....and for more....go to.....

For Rush to interject the black “thang” now is just stupid.

Rush interjected nothing. He pointed out the elephant in the room regarding Powell's endorsement. That's all. Don't shoot the messenger because he bears disagreeable news.

He would have to fight with Hagel for Secretary of Defense.

I disagree. I think he misses being in the news and he is probably looking for a job. By the way, who cares who Powell endorses? I think if Greenspan came out and said he endorsed B.O. that would carry more weight.

"I have one more reason.Maybe Powell is on the list in Obama’s cabinet?"

Possible.

Also possible that Powell takes Biden seriously when he says the Obama administration will go after the Bush administration for "war crimes."

This could be his inoculation.

Condi is also a lib. She should have never been placed in that position either. The Republican party has been severely damaged by these people. Rush should pull his head out of his ass and start calling them out.

We don’t need anymore traitors to our cause embedded within our cabinet. These people are the ones that are helping are President with policy decisions.

At least have people in positions that agree with the party platform. Jeesh.

If it was really about race, Powell would have made the contribution early on, not now.

Very good point, worth bumping.

Powell jumped in there because Barry saw his lead melting in the last few days and needed Joe The Plumber off the front pages

Powell is garbage and sucked as both COJC and Sec. of State

another legacy of the Bush’s

Powell is an opportunists.

He don't won't to be called Uncle Tom.

I have posted for several years that Powell would have screwed up in Iraq had it not been for General Swartzkoff saving his butt in the Gulf War.

Powell is nothing more than an above average man made by the Bush penchant for diversity.

Racism is an ugly thing that blocks all rational thought. I thought Powell was above all that, it seems I am wrong.

Well, she has stood up for Dubya, how liberal is that? If she were a real liberal, as liberal as her background as provost of Stanford University would suggest, she'd have resigned by now "in protest" of something or other, and gone home to high-five her fellow academicians, like Richard Clarke did.

She has covered up her own belief system in service to the two Bushes. I don't know where she falls on the spectrum, although I believe I've read conjecture or a story that she is pro-choice. I've also read that the DUmmies tell each other Condi is gay. (Stone's movie says Karl Rove is gay, too.) I have no earthly idea what her private thoughts are on any number of issues important to conservatives, like school choice, the Second Amendment, scoping of Government, subsidiarity and States' rights, and so on.

Why don’t you let the guy get on the air before bitching about what he did and did not say?

“If it was really about race, Powell would have made the contribution early on, not now. “

Powell is a military man.....don’t you all get it? He wants to be known as the HERO to the blacks. He has always been on the side of the up and coming Pubs and has been ridculed...but now, he can get attention, probably a big donation to his charity Operation red wagon, and cruise into his twilight years with speaking engagements....book writing and LOOK LIKE A HERO!!! Now we have to make sure all of these endorsements that are and will be coming out of the woodwork go down Nov. 4th. They are exposed for making a stance toward an ultra liberal, radical, ACORN endorsed/founder, muslim friendly candidate and I hope we all can rejoice in his defeat coming in 16 days.

“The news Rush should be sharing is that Powell is a lib.”

That’s news?

What little respect I did have for Colin Powell, I lost during the Scooter Libby/Valerie Plame debacle. Powell knew his sidekick Richard Armitage leaked Plame’s name, yet kept silent while Scooter’s career was ruined. I believe there is no love lost between Powell and Cheney. Powell’s silence during the Libby case was a form of payback since Libby was Cheney’s right-hand man.
