On Colin Powell and his Endorsement of Barak Obama
N/A | 10-19-08 | Self

Colin Powell today revealed himself as a craven and slimy individual in endorsing Barak Obama. He is endorsing him on the real grounds of racial solidarity and not the Horse Manure he spread this morning about fixing infrastructure, Ayers, etc. And the conduct of the war and the UN not voting right is more scatology. He was for it before he was against it. We've heard it before. Powell was against the war and did not have the courage to go to the wall against it.

I understand his pride in the success of a fellow black, but detest a prevailing culture that instead of saying racism is wrong wherever it appears, says it is the fault of white people and allows any non-white group to pack up on racial lines and pursue racial grievances. Obama is a part of these groups, not that he will not deny the depth of the association when expedient.

Barak Obama is a creature of total cynicism. No matter how close or how much you have done for him expect to be thrown under the train when it suits him. Don't believe me, ask Rev. Wright and Rev. Jackson, hell, ask his Grandmother. A soldier should respect loyalty, especially when that loyalty costs. That is the kind of loyalty George Bush has, maybe to a fault, definitely to his political detriment. Powell can be certain his rewards under Obama will last exactly as long as it is good for Barak.

Colin Powell, unlike Obama, was in the highest echelon of the administration at the time of the decision to go to war. His strident opposition would have given pause to the process. If he thought the war and prevailing leadership was wrong he should have resigned and fought it and them for all he is worth. He might have prevailed. Instead he functioned like a lackey and bided his time to stab his long time, "friend" John McCain in the back.

I really don't know what Powell thinks he can acheive by this. He is never going to be a darling of the Obama crew or the racial grievance industry. Oh they will give him some public compliments but they probably look on him as an Uncle Tom trying to get back in with the, "brothers", especially after working for the Bush administration. He can never erase his association with the war or diminish his failure to oppose it to his best ability if he thought it was wrong.

Powell will go down in history as the first black Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff and Secretary of State marking him as a leading expert in bureaucratic survival and infighting, but not as a leader who fought the fight he should have.

I agree. We are screwed. The election process may be sufficiently corrupted that he wins. That is bad by itself, but I do not think we ever come back with the thugs fully in charge. Think about the kind of Judges this animal will load the judiciary with.

Wrong, Powell has always been a socialist and never was a Republican ...

The forum here seems to disagree with your conclusion. Being a racists has nothing to do with be a socialist. Of course, he is a socialist but is also a proven racist! He was "Republican" when it suited his career path to be one. Had our president been a Democrat at the time, Powell would have been a Democrat!

But, he would have still been a RACIST!

A point I wanted to make with the people of Prince William County yesterday: PWC passed tough measures which caused most illegals to leave the county.

With an Obama appointed Supreme Court, many state and local initiatives to halt the flood of illegals will probably to ruled “unconstitutional.”

We cannot allow the Dems to appoint the next two justices.

I am ashamed to admit that in a previous post I said that Powell would not endorse BHO. I have lost a lot of respect for the retired General.

Sometime the truth is hard to believe but he has convinced me that all along he has been a closet leftist.

A sad day for me personally and sad day for America.

Why are you so upset? This is a totally meaningless event no matter how big the media tries to make it. A black guy endorsing another black guy and that is all. Most people will view it this way and it will have zero effect on the elections.

You are mistaken, it will matter a bit and it comes at the end
of the campaign where it will be more significant.
Powell chose his time well.

No it will have zero effect. I am sure the media will fabricate some polls that show that it has an effect but at the end the majority of people will see it as a black man endorsing another black man.

WTF? I think King would also be appalled by affirmative action too. Does that make me a liberal? You're an a$$! I was using King's "character" issue to point out Powell's hypocracy in choosing Obama simply for the color of his skin rather than on ideology.

BTW - I'm as far-right as you can get!

You are wrong about this being the end of our country if BO wins.

Do not despair. Every Action produces an equally strong Reaction.....in physics as well as politics.

If this lamentable event occurs I believe it will energize the patriots in this country like nothing since the Carter Administration. A little struggle against great odds in the 3 branches of the Feds and the MSM is just what might be needed to awaken the sleeping giant in this country.......bring it on !

Can we now stop pretending this isn’t about race and Obama supporters are not racists?

Since people with the credentials of Powell have chosen by race, can we white people now start choosing by race? It seems that these racists are playing by school-yard rules, so I will from now on. Black guy versus white guy; white guy wins. It is about my race as much as it is about theirs.

You're an a$$!

Perhaps you need to learn a little more about your revered Dr. King.

You are wrong about this being the end of our country if BO wins.

What you fail to take into consideration is the way Obama and the Dems will radically alter the country.

Yes, if the same voters that vote in 2008 were the ones present for the 2012 election and there were no further tampering with the election process, we might be able to get rid of Obama and Co.

However, Obama and Co. will ensure that we are not the same people in 2008.

The elections are close as it as, add a few million voters here and there in the correct places and the Dems will be unstoppable, even as Real Americans wake up bit by bit.

Just a prediction.

Today is a more dangerous situation. There is a lot more corruption in the Obama organization that Carter’s and we are
farther along a demographic shift the GOP has been unable to substantially convert.

Not that I’m grabbing on to straws or anything, but your writing “But I wouldn’t be surprised if he, along with others, revokes his endorsement by the end of this month” intrigues me.

Say more?

I retract what I said previously in praise of Colin Powell. The man is just another race huckster.

True enough. The facts as we know them would seem to imply that. I don't disagree that there will be hell to pay if BO wins.
But here's my point. Liberalism/socialism/communism cannot successfully govern a country for long. Eventually even the police states of Europe fell. As bad as BO and the scum around him will try to lock down this country they will fail. We ain't no country of serfs like Russia!

And lets face it; since the New Deal we have been living in a partially free country and maybe a BO administration will be the final blow off of collectivist power.

Collectivism is not the wave of the future. IMHO our little collectivist experiment since Roosevelt is about to die anyway.....look at the market......a BO administration just might bring it on sooner than expected.

I don’t have any inside scoop about Powell, but when all this junk comes about about Obama, who’s to say that there isn’t some good in Powell?
