Obama campaign counsel Bob Bauer has sent a letter (.pdf) to the Department of Justice requesting that Special Prosecutor Dannehy -- who is currently investigating the firings of U.S. Attorneys -- expand her investigation to look into whether any administration officials have worked in a joint effort with the McCain campaign and the RNC in legitimizing the allegations of vote fraud.
In the letter, Bauer asks for an inquiry into what he calls a "systematic development and dissemination of unsupported, spurious allegations of vote fraud." On a conference call with reporters, Bauer went further in explaining their position.
"These [vote fraud] allegations do not mean illegal voting," Bauer said. "Nobody really expects thousands of Mickey Mouses or Tony Romos to show up at the poll to vote this fall. But at the end of the day, the reason that you're getting the daily calls, the reason -- quite apart from political desperation -- that they're resorting to this issue and not to others, is to utilize the mantra that they've hit upon and the organization whose name they plan to make famous as a proxy for attacking the electoral process itself."
Bauer went on to say that the allegations are an "unprecedented effort to essentially sap the American people of confidence in the voting process" and that "an attack on the voters cannot go undefended."

Obama Camp Asks DoJ For Investigation (of Joe The Plumber)
The reason a Special Prosecutor was appointed for the US attorneys’ firing is because of Congress’ assumption that the AG cannot be trusted to prosecute his boss, the President, because of a sopposed conflict of interest.
Even if there is some illegality involved with the investigation of ACORN, and you’d have to suspend the laws of logic to draw that conclusion, the investigation of McCain & Co. would not involve the AG investigating his boss, so there is NO conflict of interest, therefore a Special Prosecutor is not needed.
But because Team Obama has already proven that they willfully suspend the laws of logic, and the MSM willingly pads after their Pied Piper, we are subjected to moronic articles like this one in the MSM and other press outlets.
I say, moronic, because the author, Kyle Trygstad, apparently made no attempt to get a rebuttal statement from Team McCain or the RNC. That’s either fundamentally dishonest reporting or fundamentally moronic reporting. So, maybe I’m wrong, and it’s merely dishonest, but it could be both dishonest and moronic.
Ha, on “Huckabee” last night, Shapton opined that it might be ACORN that was defrauded by their workers.
Yeah, right. ACORN has been defrauded by their workers in more than 10 States, and for the past several elections, yet ACORN has still not put into place any measures to protect against such fraud by their workers.
That confidence was ruined in 2000 when the RATS wanted endless recounts in Florida using increasingly questionable ballots and even attempting to eliminate military absentee ballots until the chosen candidate came out on top.
Now we have an attempt to catch apparently widespread, organized, and persistent fraud before it effects an election and this will "sap the American people of confidence in the voting process"?
Isn't that an anti-black racist statement from Sharpton? After all, the workers are predominatly black, any white saying this would be called racist.
