WINTER HAVEN | Photographs of aborted human embryos and early stage fetuses - billboard sized and graphic - will circulate through downtown Winter Haven today and through downtown Lakeland on Friday.
They're being displayed on a fleet of several large trucks to raise public awareness of abortion before the Nov. 4 election.
"People would find it hard to miss us," said Mark Harrington, executive director of The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, which he said is a non-profit organization that can't endorse candidates or highlight their political views.
What it can do is espouse the group's position, "obviously pro life," Harrington said. "We're raising the question of abortion to voters to allow them to reason to the correct conclusion."
The trucks are scheduled to be driving through the downtowns from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The color photographs they showcase have stirred controversy in Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Florida is being targeted because it is a key election state, Harrington said. The group has been in Florida before, he said, but not in Polk County.
The trucks will be here prior to a trip down the West Coast of Florida and up its East Coast. In several Southeast Florida locations, although not in Polk, the trucks will stop to allow setup of the Genocide Awareness Project. That display has pictures of abortion along with images from Nazi concentration camps, a lynching of a black man, the World Trade Center attack and other instances of genocide, seeking to have people see abortion in that light.
"The images we display are not pleasant," the group said on its Web site. "They represent an injustice of such magnitude that words alone fail us."
The privately financed organization goes to downtowns, university campuses and other public areas as "the last mass-media venue available to us."
There's a controversy - with killing babies? Do tell...
God Bless these people.
PRayers for the unborn.

Suffer the little children to come to me ............
Thank GOD there are still good people in this country who care! Bless them for trying to save the U.S.A.!!
I’ll bet if it were required for every pregnant woman to view her own ultrasound priot to aborting the baby there would be a lot less abortions.
I was at an elementary school today having lunch with my daughter and her niece. I started talking to one of the little second grade girls and mentioned that my daughter was going to have a baby. The little girl nonchalantly said “my Mama was going to have a baby, but, she got rid of it. Her boyfriend didn’t want it.”
Isn’t that sad?
That little girl, her name was Bailey, reminded me a lot of Sarah Palin’s daughter Piper. I know that is going to haunt me.
Thank God for this pro-life group willing to show the horrors of abortion to our nation.
I hope many here will join me in supporting this group with needed funds for their efforts all across America.
