WASHINGTON, Oct 16, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) applauded reports this afternoon that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has opened an active investigation into whether the left-wing advocacy group ACORN has violated federal election law by fostering and promoting a national program of voter registration fraud.

ACORN needs to be shut down while the FBI investigation is going on. There is already enough evidence to warrant this. In the meantime, all registration forms and ballots should be seized and quarantined. This should be done in every state, not just in Missouri.

Great but can they be effective before the election. This should be immediately turned into a question as to the ability to have a fair election.

In the 15 states effected so far all votors should be required to show a valid Picture ID issued by a State or federal source. IE... Driver’s License or a US Passport. In Obama’s case his Indonisian passport would be ok.

In the 15 states effected so far all voters should be required to show a valid Picture ID issued by a State or federal source.

If the FBI finds even (one) violation, the USAG should have the authority to require each do exactly what you said. If it is a state with a Republican Gov, he or she should sign an order to have it carried out. Of course, I wouldn't expect a dem gov to do that. Hence, the Fed AG's order to override the state in that case.

In addition, if any of the ACORN states go to Obama, there should be a mandatory investigation and recount. Better yet, a complete reelection conducted in the infected states.

IF anyone believes that there will be a "finding" that will warrant a grand jury and or any other such resolution BEFORE the election also believes in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

Being the skeptic that I am, if ANYTHING comes out before the election it will be a vindication of ACORN from the wuss, Bush administered DOJ. Would not want to ruffle any "minority" feathers, now, would they.

DOUBT ME? Well, who has heard anything from W on this? He should be having a news conference condemning this obvious attempt to steal a Presidential election and assuring the people "his" Justice Dept WILL stop this in its tracks.

Let’s not forget that Obama basically defended ACORN last night in the debate.
He said they were an organization that did good work. I don’t recall his exact words, but he framed in in a way that any voter fraud was a very minor thing in a good organization.
