Pennsylvania Republican Party Calls Obama "A Terrorist's Best Friend"

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - The Pennsylvania Republican Party has released a press release criticizing Sen. Barack Obama's (D-IL) ties to former 1970s radical Bill Ayers and calling the Democrat a "terrorist's best friend."

In a written statement entitled "PAGOP: Obama - A Terrorist's Best Friend," state party chairman Robert Gleason said, ""We are electing someone to be our next Commander-in-Chief and I think it is more than fair to look into their background. The Obama Campaign admitted that Obama and Ayers were 'certainly friendly' and that says a lot about Barack Obama's character. Ayers' is a terrorist, and there is no denying that the group he founded attacked our country and killed innocent Americans.

"Obama claims that he didn't know about Ayers background as a terrorist, but I find that hard to believe. Ayers past is well known and he has been quoted in numerous articles, including in The New York Times where he said that he thought he didn't do enough and wishes that he would have set off more bombs," he added.

The comments from Gleason coincide with what pundits have said was shift in the race in favor of Obama and a stronger reliance by the McCain campaign on character attacks on the Democrat.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin spent the weekend in Colorado and California questioning Obama's ties to Ayers, a former member of the Weather Underground who is now a professor at the University of Illinois and who hosted an event for Obama's first campaign for state legislator in 1995.

Palin continued her attacks on Monday but observers noted some modifications, such as her refraining to again use the phrase, "palling around with terrorists" after the New York Times and CNN said the Democrat and Ayers were never that close.

Observers also noted Palin's use of the plural "terrorists." The Associate Press went so far as to say that Palin's comments against Obama were "carried a racially-tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret."

Palin is quoted by Fox as responding, "The Associated Press is wrong. The comments are about an association that has been known but hasn't been talked about and I think its fair to talk about where Barack Obama kicked off his political career... it's important for Americans to know. Its really important for Americans to start knowing who the real Barack Obama is."

The Philadelphia Daily News, reacting to Gleason's statement, pointed out that the co-chairman of the Pennsylvania GOP was convicted in 1986 for being part of a scheme to bribe public officials in return for a state contract.

The danger of being over-the-top is that it gets the MSM in hand-wringing mode ‘oh what a terrible campaign’
rather than the substance.

A more substantive set of charges about Obama and his extreme agenda for *NOW* is vital in the debate/discussion.

That is to say, it is not that Obama was merely associated with a 60s radical/terrorist, it is that Obama shared his radical agenda enough to spend $100 million on education ‘reform’ of the type pushed by Ayers, who wants political indoctrination in the schools.

Good for them. It doesn’t go far enough, but it is something. Here’s a tip for the GOP. Stop pandering to minorities. First, it doesn’t work. Most minority members are Democrats. Second, affirmative action was a racist idea to begin with, and it has done more than forty years of damage. The current economic crisis can be laid at the feet of affirmative action home loans and the timid Republicans who backed them (Bush). It is no surprise that the front men for the Fannie and Freddie debacle were members of the black caucus.

Now the country is about to elect an affirmative action president. Enough is enough.

I thought this thread would be about the endorsements of Hamas, Hezbollah, Kadafi, Al-Q, and so on. That made an impression on me.

" pointed out that the co-chairman of the Pennsylvania GOP was convicted in 1986 for being part of a scheme to bribe public officials in return for a state contract."

What exactly is the point of this? Darned near all politicians are corrupt, if they want to point fingers like this lets drag Barney Frank and Chris "Donate more Fannie" Dodd on the spot. The corruption THERE Reeks. Though not worse than Obama's buddie/cousin/tribe member, Odinga, standing in a pool of the rotting blood of all the Kenyans he caused to die with the support of Obama. Yea Everything to do with Democrats absolutely reeks of sadistic lies and absolutely vile conduct better associated with Satan and Demons than the Office of President. We can NOT let such a man into that house of Power.

Thanks Westbrook!

McCain should state:

“American voters are wondering WHAT DO THESE GROUPS KNOW ABOUT OBAMA THAT THEY SUPPORT HIM? THEY SURE AS HELL ARE NOT SUPPORTING ME!”
