The NRA is going up with its second wave of advertising against Obama, focused in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Minnesota and Michigan. One television ad, which will also air in Spanish, features a former Texas police officer tying gun issues to illegal immigration, saying: “Families should be able to defend themselves against rapists, drug dealers and other criminals illegally crossing our border.”
It’s unclear how widely this spot will air, but it’s supposed to go up on TV and radio today. The NRA claims that it will spend "8 figures" on broadcast advertising this cycle.

I am surpised they are not running ads in west & central PA. Lots of hunters in PA.
I so not say this lightly, but I believe a large-scale attempt to confiscate peoples' guns will result in substantial violence.
I’d like to see the NRA publicize how Obama tried to squelch their ads. It’s not just a 2nd Amendment issue, but a 1st Amendment issue as well.
These ads will only make the difference in a close race. We are facing a 7-8 point spread. John McCain has GOT to get this race tighter.

In their sights? My FRiend, this place probably has had whole shifts of folks over at NSA as dedicated lurkers since 1999. Not just lurkers, either. Back in those days there were a number of active freepers who were thought to be NSA trolls sowing disinformation and dissension in the ranks. They were pretty well identified, but not much was done. This was before the emergence of the VIKING KITTY and the fearsome ZOT!
