Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is a friend to terrorists, the running mate of Republican John McCain said on Saturday in the latest sign the final month of the campaign is turning increasingly nasty.
The comment by Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was dismissed by the Obama campaign as "gutter politics" and came shortly after the McCain campaign had already called the U.S. senator from Illinois a liar.
With polls showing McCain trailing Obama in many battleground states, including several won by Republicans in the last presidential election in 2004, Palin told reporters she will be an attack dog leading up to the November 4 election.
Speaking at a fund-raiser in Englewood, Colorado, she launched an aggressive assault on Obama just days after both candidates urged Congress to set aside partisan politics to pass a $700 billion package to free up frozen credit markets.
"Our opponent though is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he is palling around with terrorists who would target their own country," Palin said of Obama, also calling him an embarrassment.

This shortly after McCain called Obama a liar in Illinois. Wow. So, for three weeks we have had to listen to Obama and Biden call Palin a liar... that must have been ok.
Bottom line: Obama got “aggressive” while McCain/Palin get “nasty”.

Remember, as we were all reminded by the Palin performance, speak to the audience, not to your opponent. Your opponent has only one vote. It is the voters you are talking to. Whatever they hear, whatever convinces them, that’s what you do.
Never argue. Winning an argument is not the goal. Convincing is, regardless of how you do it. Just convince.
Oh! And following the logic of this Obama $hitweasel campaign puke, it would make sense for President NoBama to pardon Charlie Manson (Hey! Obammy was only 10 when Chuck was hacking up Sharon Tate and her crew) in January and make him Secretary of Health and Human Services.

2/3 of the American people stated LOUDLY AND CLEARLY (sadly)--that character and integrity NO LONGER MATTER IN THIS COUNTRY--when they allowed Slick to remain in office.
The only thing that got Slick elected, was the economy,,,and

The campaign turned ugly when Hillary and Obama declared that they were candidates.
The attack smacks of desperation because Americans are never going to digest the intricate facts behind it. Barry and Bill sat on the same Board of Directors for a period (so did a lot of other people) and they live in the same neighborhood. This does not on first blush smack of them being “pals” and 90% of Americans simply are not going to get it. I agree that there is a real and despicable connection between the two but unless we put on a big ad campaign that goes to length to explain this (a la the Swift Boat campaign), this is a lost cause.

You do know that the MSM and the Dhims are allergic to the truth, so they consider it to be “ugly” and “nasty”.
If any of the things we know about Obama are going to get out, it has to come out of the candidates mouths in order for it to get coverage.

I definitely agree with you that those are the winning issues. I do think it’s important for someone to show Obama for what he really is but where’s the GOP on all this?
I think the winning issue is to stop the out-of-control spending. McCain should figure out how much each American is going to pay for Obama’s trillion dollar plan and add that to what we just paid for the bailout. This is Sarah’s strength, so much so that Biden tried to jump on the issue saying they would also give a windfall oil rebate. We need to play to our strengths.
1) Both had friends who did bomb the Pentagon.
2) Neither are US Citizens.
3) Both were Muslims.
