Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is a friend to terrorists, the running mate of Republican John McCain said on Saturday in the latest sign the final month of the campaign is turning increasingly nasty.
The comment by Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was dismissed by the Obama campaign as "gutter politics" and came shortly after the McCain campaign had already called the U.S. senator from Illinois a liar.
With polls showing McCain trailing Obama in many battleground states, including several won by Republicans in the last presidential election in 2004, Palin told reporters she will be an attack dog leading up to the November 4 election.
Speaking at a fund-raiser in Englewood, Colorado, she launched an aggressive assault on Obama just days after both candidates urged Congress to set aside partisan politics to pass a $700 billion package to free up frozen credit markets.
"Our opponent though is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he is palling around with terrorists who would target their own country," Palin said of Obama, also calling him an embarrassment.

Oh, I see. It wasn’t an ugly campaign until just now, when Sarah started out. Thank you, Reuters scumbags.
Right...and the MSM has been lily-white in their ugly attacks.
It’s about time! The Obamedia is giving their messiah a free ride. It’s time we see just how thin-skinned he really is. Get ‘em Sarah!!!
Exactly what I was thinking! I turned ugly when Palin was named and the media sent their winged monkeys to Alaska.
“campaign turns ugly”
#####
Not that there was anything ugly at all about the cowardly hyena attacks on Governor Palin’ teen-age daughter, and Down Syndrome baby.
out=it
Turns “ugly” - “nasty” ???
Neither.
I just hope the truth about B.O. finally gets into the news.
its been ugly since the democrats media been attacking palin in a personal way
I = It ha! What a boo boo.
About ticket. Glad Palin is on the ticket. I’d rather see her on top of the ticket though.
Trashing Palin, from the prurient curiosity in Bristol's pregnancy, to the distorted and heavily-edited interviews with Gibson and Couric, to tasergate - not ugly in the least...
What do you expect from presstitutes? A fresh clean smell?
You go Sarah. They can’t avoid the truth you speak now!

Obama & Friends: A History of Radicalism: ‘Hannity’s America’ investigates Obama’s college years, time as a community organizer and numerous controversial relationships
I guess with AP telling the truth is getting “ugly.”
The stakes are very high in this election, Sarah knows it, and she knows her kids futures hang in the balance. This is equivalent to “Midway” or the “Battle of Britain” we must win.
Why is it being “nasty” when she is simply calling him out on his shady associations with terrorists? I think that is a PERFECTLY VALID fact the American people should be aware of. Since the media is such a big wad of panty pudding its up to John & Sarah to educate the American people about what a truly Shady guy Obama is. Plus, the Obama team doesnt have to get “nasty” because their friends (the MSM) take care of that for them.
To the MSM--it's ONLY ugly when Republicans respond or raise legitimate issues.
The democrats and Hussein can say whatever they want,,,,whenever they want,,,to whoever they want.
Those are "RULES"--and the sooner we accept them, the easier it wil be for everyone. /s
She will be in 2012 if McCain loses. I hope he wins obviously. But if the media succeeds this time then Sarah will have 4 years to get her credentials furthered. Let’s see anyone try the “no experience” thing after she’s been a Governor for almost 6 years.
Barry is perfectly free to prove that. I hope he tries.
