Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is a friend to terrorists, the running mate of Republican John McCain said on Saturday in the latest sign the final month of the campaign is turning increasingly nasty.
The comment by Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was dismissed by the Obama campaign as "gutter politics" and came shortly after the McCain campaign had already called the U.S. senator from Illinois a liar.
With polls showing McCain trailing Obama in many battleground states, including several won by Republicans in the last presidential election in 2004, Palin told reporters she will be an attack dog leading up to the November 4 election.
Speaking at a fund-raiser in Englewood, Colorado, she launched an aggressive assault on Obama just days after both candidates urged Congress to set aside partisan politics to pass a $700 billion package to free up frozen credit markets.
"Our opponent though is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he is palling around with terrorists who would target their own country," Palin said of Obama, also calling him an embarrassment.

Filthy, nasty, gutter, stick in your eye, I love it.
Palin slams Obama as campaign turns ugly
I posted the title as I found it.
This title would be better;
Palin slams Obama and we finally have to report Obamas shortcomings.
So the campaign wasn’t ugly when Mac was attacked as a cancer victim? How about the targeting of Bristol Palin?
Mc PAIN needs to explain how deeply involved in ACORM and fellow Democrats are in this “financial crisis”. The public is HOT over that.
Why is McPain takign this route? Is he trying to LOSE?
It's ABOUT the ECONOMY!
It ALWAYS is.
Does anyone remember another candidate being referred to as the Messiah and The One as much as Obama?
You do realize that's redundant?
It ain’t ugly when you’re being honest and telling the truth.
Sarah won’t win in 2012.
I’m more concerned about NOW.
If a comment is ugly, than I don’t think there could quite possibly be a word for someone supporting setting an infant aside to die.
Great post.
The American people deserve to know why it is ok for the President to be friends with a TERRORIST (and his TERRORIST WIFE)--who proudly boasted that he tried to bomb the Pentagon, Capitol Building and NY Police HQ,,,
and whose only regret is "HE DID NOT DO MORE"!
The American people deserve that explanation!!
P.S. What do Obama and Osama have in common? BOTH HAVE FRIENDS WHO TRIED TO BOMB THE PENTAGON.
That is hilarious! I guess it wasn’t ugly last month when Sarah was being drawn and quartered. You know folks, we need to do something about this media. And I have some ideas. Let me know if you are interested.
I know it needs to be done (attacks) but I hate for Americans to see the media’s characterization of Sarah as nasty. It’s her postiive, cheerful, energetic, enthusiasm that everyone loves and, if they paint this dark picture, that will be what many see. I hate the media and their politics.
Team McCain, fight the narrative or GTFO... don’t let Obama win the narratives... if you lose this then you lose... this is a legitimate issue... not an act of desperation...

EXACTLY. Palin should say “they say it’s gutter politics, did he or did he not cross paths many times with Ayers?” Keep asking that question!!!!
Get back to issues on economics, taxes and how the Demoncrats screwed up with that lead to the “bailout”. THOSE are WINNING ISSUES!
Excellant point! He needs to convince the people that they will LOSE big financially if they elect Obama!

this really needs its own thread, don’t yall think?
I have to sign off right now tho
“Lets see anyone try the no experience thing after shes been a Governor for almost 6 years.”
If McCain loses, Democrats in Congress will make it a top priority to wipe their a**es with Alaska for the next 4 years. They will make it a point to target Palin constantly so she has no chance of succeeding on a national ticket in 2012. I love Palin, but me thinks it’s now or never...
