“Let’s see anyone try the “no experience” thing after she’s been a Governor for almost 6 years.”

If McCain loses, Democrats in Congress will make it a top priority to wipe their a**es with Alaska for the next 4 years. They will make it a point to target Palin constantly so she has no chance of succeeding on a national ticket in 2012. I love Palin, but me thinks it’s now or never...

That’s a fair point and don’t get me wrong, this is all hypothetical, I want to see her as VP on Jan 20th 2009. But if she DID run in 2012 I think she would have a very good shot. For one thing, I think she would attract the best GOP advisors available who can help her head off the situation you’re describing. Plus, what can the dems do to her in Alaska that she couldn’t turn around and make hay out of come campaign season?
