OJ Simpson jury to announce decision tonight in Las Vegas at 10pm Pacific.
I thought I heard somewhere that when he put his FLA home up as bail, it was no longer protected from being seized to satisfy the civil judgment.
For many years I haven’t been much for TV other than educational or FNC. We lived in a rural area and had a satellite dish, Court TV covered the trial in it’s entirety and I watched practically all of it live.
Though much of it was boring it was a good example of our justice system at it’s worst. I’ll always remember the antics of the lawyers and their petty arguing. The lack of control of the courtroom by Judge Ito was appalling.
In the early part of the trial I’ll always remember him telling the lawyers to calm down and when the trial is over he’d take them to dinner and they’d all be friends. Sheesh!
Johnnie Cochran said it best. “If the jury be white, dae get de berdict right!”
Well, it’s about time the punk/thug gets his just dues. There are some who think OJ was railroaded with this...I for one think justice at times moves slowly but a thug is always a thug and his stripes will not change and it was only a matter of time before the punk was put where he has belonged for a very long time.
O the miscarriage! How shall he ever find the true killers of Ron and Nicole!
Will Snobami come to OJ’s rescue and free him in 2009?
Cheers!
Note to self:
I’ll bet he never spends a night in prison. He was found guilty, but they’ll find a way to keep him from serving the sentence he so rightly deserves!
LOL ....... :o)
O pardoning OJ from white injustice: how very Jeremiah A. Wright liberation theology of him.
Who cares.
The irony is that he was hoisted on his own petard. He loves being the center of attention for his dwindling number of hangers-on, and they in turn love making money off him. So they tripped over each other trying to tape and memorialize the entire event. Aside from your basic liquor store or 7-11 type incidents, most of these crimes don’t have audio of the event or video of the thugs entering and leaving. Then audio of them all sitting around laughing about it afterward. People need to understand that this is a huge amount of evidence for a case of this type, and the average thug would have been convicted as well. It’s lucky that nobody was inadvertantly shot or injured during this incident, what with all those guys crammed into one room while tempers were flaring. This was no cordial drop in to recover his family photos, and prisons are full of guys who could say they had a good reason for what they did. People in OJ’s world bought into the Teflon OJ aura and figured that as long as they were just helping out The Juice, the pesky NV laws didn’t apply to the situation.
I mean yes, they did go after him harder on this because of the past, but he still committed this crime.
In that picture on Drudge he looks like Hussein O.
Nevada has minimum sentences so there is no chance that he will not be sentenced to prison. His only hope is appeal. I would not be surprised to see him granted a new trial because the evidence was thin. I am not sure if the state of the evidence will be enough for a new trial. If he is not granted a new trial, he will be in prison for a long time. Even if he is granted a new trial, he will be in prison for at least several years before the appeal is approved.
I have sympathy for his co-defendant. If Simpson were a normal person, the case may not have been prosecuted or at least a good plea agreement would have been offered. The case was zealous prosecution. Although the minimum aspects may been satisfied in the counts against the defendants, the circumstances of the crime hardly merit the stiff sentences that will be given. Unfortunately, Simpson is not a normal defendant. The co-defendant picked the wrong person to pull this stunt with. Simpson deserves the sentence but the co-defendant does not.
The TV coverage folks kept referring to his older daughter Arnelle as his sister. Not sure if this lady who was so upset is the daughter or actual sister.
Dang, I was 12 years old when the first OJ trial went down. 12.
Wow.
Time has just flown by.....
Guilty. Hallelujah.
Even if he gets 25 years, he may die in prison.
