Hockey Mom Not Ready For Prime Tine
Posted on 10/03/2008 12:10:43 PM PDT by SantaLuz
She's a Hockey Mom who's supports the National Hockey League's Hockey Fights Cancer campaign.
She's lives on an island far removed in values from the American Heartland.
She has been criticised for wearing her skirts too short, and the subject of many commentaries and Web sites about her legs.
Her interviews have been criticised as being too cute and sophmorish.
She has been roundly criticized for not writing her own material, but merely reading off the teleprompter.
She has also been criticised for plagarism.
She has been made fun of, laughed at on TV and talk shows, and told she is not ready for prime time.
Very recently her many critics have recommended that she step down from her postion of leadership.
Who am I talking about?
It's not Sarah Palin. It's Katie Couric!

Yeah, I said something similar at work today. I work with mostly Dems, btw. I walked in and said, “well, she did a terrible job last night and proved that she had no business being there. But enough about Gwen Ifill.” Brought the house down.

She's a Hockey Mom who's supports the National Hockey League's Hockey Fights Cancer campaign.
"She also was very active in the National Hockey League's Hockey Fights Cancer campaign, appearing in some public service announcements and doing voice-overs for several others."

She lives in Manhattan, NYC. Need I say more? -

She has been criticized for wearing her skirts too short, and the subject of many commentaries and Web sites about her legs.
"Couric has been criticized for blurring the lines between entertainment and reporting. Couric's choice of short skirts while hosting the Today show has led to her legs being one of the most widely identified aspects of her on-screen persona as well as the subject of many commentaries and Web sites." - Public Image:
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and garnered 45% more viewers than on normal nights. CNN and the New York Daily News noted that instead of using Leno's regular solid desk, "workers cut away the front of her desk to expose her legs while she interviewed American Idol judge Simon Cowell and Austin Powers star Mike Myers".

She has been roundly criticized for not writing her own material, but merely reading off the teleprompter.
http://newsbusters.org/node/5282
She has also been criticized for plagarism.
"In April 2007, one of "Katie Couric's Notebook" columns on the CBS News website, a piece about the declining use of libraries, was shown to bear striking resemblances to an article by Wall Street Journal author Jeffrey Zaslow, "Of the Places You'll Go, Is the Library Still One of Them?". In the ensuing controversy, it was revealed that Couric does not generally write these columns, although they often include first-person recounting of supposed events. On April 12, 2007, CBS admitted that her most recent column was indeed plagiarized from a Zaslow article without her knowledge, and that the unidentified producer who provided the material had been fired. Couric continues to maintain that she wrote the article. The article has since been removed." - Under Controversies.

Sorry for the spelling errors. I R an Electrical Engineer. I was talking a restroom break at work and it occured to me that Couric was insecure and was projecting it onto Palin. I wrote it down as fast as I could and went back to work. If there is a moderator reading this can I correct my misspellings?

Disclaimer: I don't have any problem with strong women, who were once beauty queens or cheerleaders. My wife was a cheerleader, and is still a beauty. I don't have a problem with women who wear short skirts. :-) My wife, who I'm crazy about, wears them too. I don't have a problem with women taking on risk and moving into a position of leadership, before everyone agrees they're ready. Great people take great risks. I only have a problem with liberal “feminists” who screech out of both sides of their mouths!

It’s not considered good form to point out spelling errors, at least not to be mean, but I really think its a really good post, better than any original thought I ever posted and I think it definitely has the potential to end up in 100 million email in baskets. But, whether or not it does, good work anyway. I been looking for something to smile about all day.

I walked by my wife while she was browsing Free Republic and coincidentally she was looking at the post. She didn't know I had posted it. She thought it was funny and it made her laugh too; so at least I made a couple people smile today. Thanks for your message.
Free Republic makes me laugh and smile more than any other site on the web. Thank God for Free Republic and Jim.
