I need some help. This is a gloomy time here around FR. Obama is up comfortably in the polls. Our candidate John McCain has betrayed us (once again), our President has betrayed us and our Republican congressional leaders have betrayed us (once again).
But I've seen some people around here have managed to keep their heads up in the face of all this doom and gloom. Now I ask for their help.
I am convinced Obama will win the Presidency. I am convinced my country will collapse and die as socialism has taken the reigns of her government. I am convinced no brighter days lay ahead. I've done all I can to try and feel better but I can't. I tried to do my part to stop all this mess. I contributed to the McCain camp and feel like I've been punched in the stomach. I wrote to my congressman (Gary Miller R-CA) and two Senators (Boxer and Feinstien both D's) to oppose a bailout and feel ignored. They all voted for a bailout. I fear our economy will collapse with more government intervention. I feel no hope.
Sombody please give a way to feel positive. Any help?
Thank you!
even if Obama wins, things won’t change that much. He’ll have two years before Congress turns again, and there’s a limit to what he can do in that time.
please more vanities!we need more gloom and doom!can you please help!
‘Our candidate John McCain’
This is a Conservative site, not a Republican site.
Sorry Gee but all I can say is your instincts remain sound, if that’s any consolation.
Join your Church, do good works within your community, love your family and pray. Everything is already written.
What I want to know is why McCain went from a position of strength to a position of weakness in two weeks.
Actually, it's only in a few days -- just since the debate. The media realized that McCain impressed a lot of people, and looked Presidential, while Obama just sort of flailed around. They had to get busy planting articles critical of McCain (they knew the hyper-conservatives would swallow that bait, they always do), and propping up Obama. Their hired pollsters followed suit, either by changing their sampling or just plain making it up. There was absolutely no logical reason for McCain to lose support between Friday night's debate and Monday, when the "falling in the polls" stories began to come out.
This is the media. This is what they do. The Presidential election is one of their major advertising periods. They have to manipulate things so it's close until the end. They will print stories of the candidates rising and falling in their hired polls all the way until the last few days before the election, to keep the money rolling in.
Then, when every last dollar has been wrung from the election, they'll release their final polls, which will be as close to reality as they can get them, to keep their "reputations" secure.
The mainstream media is bleeding money. Political advertising is different from general advertising since the candidates usually must pay all money up front. Thus, political advertising gives them a cash infusion like nothing else, and they will keep it going as long as they can. Everytime they say Obama is fading, or McCain is fading, they are counting on the "fading" candidate to increase his advertising buys. They will slant their coverage toward this aim.
That is how things seem to suddenly change without reason in election campaigns. There is a reason, and it's money for the media and their pollsters. Pure and simple.
Go talk to your Democrat neighbors who always had a political sign in their yard but strangely this year do not. They might surprise you.
ESPECIALLY FROM NEWBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he would try to silence fox, rush, etc.
that’s more than enough.
You can try jumping out of your office window.
Wouldn’t advise that if you’re above the first floor, though.
I am convinced all these vanities are making everyone gloomy.
Dont write McCain off yet, 2 debates left to go.
but if you're a troll feel free to go to the roof!
They are giving me gas to be honest... and not the good power my car kinda gas either...
Of course he will because people like you insist on staying home and refuse to vote against him.
Sheesh.
Oh fiddle. People get up and go to work, making this country great.
Remember how fast Hillarycare was trashed? They had the Presidency and Congress, and Americans just won’t go for that Cr*p.
Go fishing. Have a beer. Watch the game. Visit friends, have a good meal, and turn off the tube. Unless it’s I Love Lucy.
Put your beeber on stune, and don’t be so hughly series.
If your into guns at all, you would be well served to stock up. If 0bama is elected, the “Assault Weapons” ban will be back with a vengeance with a dem congress. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to stock up on ammo too. I fully expect regulations on bulk ammo possession+purchases.
With 0bama’s very real fascist tendencies, I fear we are on the verge of a dark age from which we may never fully recover.
