Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) voted yea despite receiving 85,000 calls against it -- out of 91,000 total calls.
Her husband skied into a tree? Would that be Sonny Bono?

she looks beautiful in her gowns. gosh, we’re so-o-o lucky.

p.s. mrs mack voted for the bailout.
I believe I saw her name on the “no” list yesterday
I keep wondering how we got to the place we’re in (another variation of Hell). I know my parents grew up just accepting everything the government dished out and just accepted the higher and higher taxes and restrictions the fed gov implemented every year. They didn’t question their rights or the fed gov’s ability to do to us what it wanted to do. They were apathetic. I guess that mentality, on a much larger scale, over the past decade....is how we got here. Apathy.
I am literally sick to my stomach, and at this point...it doesn’t look like my illness will be going away....ever.
Not a self made billionaire. Billionaire because of Di Fi's position in politics.
Not that you didn't know that...Feinstein's husband Richard Blum has made BILLIONS dealing with China with the help of his wife's legislation.
Been going on for over a decade.
Corrupt, bad to the bone.

Just recently, in 2004, over one MILLION more Californians voted for Bush than did Texans.
Some might have regretted it...lol
Fact is, California has more conservatives than ANY state.
It wasn't cheap. I paid for the move from some of the home equity I had built during 18 years at that house. Just moving my household property to Idaho cost something in the range of $17,000. Selling the house cost me about $20,000 including required repairs, termite tenting and real estate commissions. I also had to set aside another $6,000 for a local apartment so my son could finish his senior year in high school. In the end, I recovered about $80K to put down on the house in Idaho. I also had to continue a contract in San Diego from May 2001 to April 2002 away from my new home in Idaho. The travel expenses weren't covered by my company...another $10K out of pocket. All in all, it was well worth moving. The lower cost of living has offset all those up front costs.
Don't be obtuse. I said nothing of the kind. I said that legislators should vote the way they understand, and what they feel is best. That's the way our representative democracy has worked for over 200 years. If we, the voting public, don't like how they vote on a series of issues, we vote them out of office. Sure, we can call and write and yell at them to vote one way or another, but I hope they don't start voting based just on the whims of their constituents. The masses are quite often wrong.
That doesn't matter much when there are more liberals in California than conservatives...and it is a winner take all state. Until that balance is tipped the other way or the state switches to proportional distribution of electoral votes, the conservatives are effectively muzzled. The balance of parties in the California legislature also reflects the problem. The endless loony legislative acts emanating from Sacramento makes California a laughing stock.

In addition:
Californians voted and passed overwhelmingly CA prop 187 way back in '94. It would have put a stop to tax paid benefits/services for illegal aliens. The Feds stepped in with help of their state government co-conspirators and burned our ballots and declared our free election illegal.
The results of this government intrusion can now be seen coast to coast.
Glad to hear it. =]
***Is this a Democracy or a dictatorship? ***
Neither. It’s a Republic... supposedly.

The Senate just voted on the bailout, and I voted no.
After spending time in Oklahoma meeting with my constituents, local business leaders, and elected officials, I could not, in good conscience, vote to approve a massive taxpayer-funded rescue plan that was so hastily crafted.
Too little time was allowed for reading and comprehension of this bill. Insufficient time was allowed for proper discussion and debate on a bill with a $700 billion price tag. $700 billion dollars of your taxpayer money.
Certainly our nation faces a financial markets crisis that requires action. Unfortunately, it remains unclear if this bill is the right action. I believe it is much more important to get it right than to rush it through.
My vote tonight was against the Paulson plan, not against taking extraordinary action to provide necessary confidence to financial markets. The plan before us would have bureaucrats in Washington attempt to do what the experts on Wall Street cant do - value troubled assets.
From the very beginning, it was the Paulson plan or no plan. It is Congresss duty to examine its options, deliberate, come to a decision that has the support of America, and act. I regret we were not allowed to do that.
Sincerely,
Jim Inhofe
