Is Barack Obama an Indonesian Citizen?
On Sunday, I received an email from An Expat in Southeast Asia, Larry Martin.
He wrote this:
Obama is Indonesian.
My sources claim that he was adopted and that the Indonesian government is aware of this - so are Obamas people who cut a deal with the Indonesian government to have the records suppressed.

[Dual citizenship]...required to obey the laws of both countries.”
That’s fine for most citizens and countries. But Indonesia does not recognize dual citizenship. To be a citizen of Indonesia, one must repudiate all other allegiences.
Not looking too good for Obama at this point.
Berg has come back at Obama & the DNC, challenging their position that he, Berg, has no standing to challenge Obama’s eligability for the Presidency in a lawsuit. The lawsuit in Philadelphia is alive and kicking and know being considered by the Judge.
I dont know, I have a connection to Johnson. He is a prostitute, and answers to the highest bidder. If Obama offered him money to keep quiet, its because the Clintons didnt pay enough..
Answer to am b, c and d: Irrelevant under US law whether true or not. Possibly interesting from a political standpoint in re how voters might view such actions. But utterly irrelevant from a legal standpoint.
It does not matter whether Indonesia consider(ed) him a citizen, now or in the past. A parent cannot renounce US citizenship for her child. Only an adult US citizen can do so, and it requires quite specific actions, which nobody has claimed Obama ever did.
You cannot unintentionally or accidentally void US citizenship. This is by the law’s design.
A. He was issued a US passport without problems.
B. He was not naturalized.
Therefore, he is a native-born US citizen.
Odd that the Honolulu paper carried a birth announcement. If this was a coverup, they were thing WAY ahead.
Au contraire, mon frere. A registered adoption means the original birth certificate is sealed, and a new one issued with the adoptive parents shown. This is the real reason he won’t release his birth certificate. He is not using his real name, Barry Soetero.
Of course not. Since when Marxists give a rat’s ass about the law and the Constitution? They plan to burn the Constitution in a Rose Garden ceremony the week after Obama has been crowned.
This is total nonsense.
I was referring to the one issued at the time of birth, which he apparently mentioned coming across in one of his books.
Oh, and its ma soeur.
chapeau . . .
No, Stanley Ann Dunham did not adopt Barry Soetoro. He is her biological child.
She married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen. He married her then adopted her son. That is why Barry Soetoro is registered in Indonesian schools as an Indonesian citizen and Lolo Soetoro is his father.
When a child is adopted a new birth certificate is created with the new parent(s) names on it, and the prior birth certificate (if it exists!) is sealed and cannot be opened except by court order. That is why, as speculation has it, that Senator Obama will not produce his Hawaiian birth certificate - it states his LEGAL name as Barry Soetoro and his parents as Lolo Soetoro and Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro.
In the United States one cannot run for public office using anything other than one’s LEGAL name. No aliases allowed.
If it is discovered by a court of law that Senator Obama’s real name is Barry Soetoro, then all ballots cast for him in the name of Barack Obama are automatically null and void.
The DNC has a major stake in seeing that the above doesn’t happen. They don’t care whether it is illegal, immoral, unethical, or all the former combined! For the Dems getting and keeping power is all that matter.
Whatever the truth about Barry's childhood, his biological parents really did a number on him. I almost feel sorry for him.
Prove it!
Um, that was my original point, but I think it would be more than "possibly" interesting to know that a Presidential candidate has been less than honest about his upbringing, especially when the same candidate has based a major portion of his appeal on his biography. I think we need look no further than the media frenzy about Governor Palin to realize the significance of background.
What's becoming more fascinating though, is the vehemence of those who want to clobber the slightest of criticisms, questions or speculation about Obama's background with a the brute force of a sledgehammer.
Hint: nothing I've said on this thread questioned his standing as a citizen, and yet you felt it necessary to respond with an argument on that point.
As I said, it's fascinating.
I have been watching this with guarded hope.
I can’t wait to see what new info you acquire and hope I am pleasantly surprised by your findings.
Can’t wait to hear.
Possibly so. However, the original article and a great many of the posts since claim he is or may be ineligible to be president. That’s generally the whole point of the discussion about his parentage, birthplace, etc.
I apologize if I lumped you in with the general context inappropriately.
I don’t object to speculation as such, but at some point something resembling proof needs to be produced.
Interesting links that Lucyt sent in post #80.
