Need list of R's voting Yea

Posted on 09/29/2008 11:38:11 AM PDT by daddydoo

We need a list of the Republicans voting YEA on this bill. I hope John McCain tries to get on board all those Dems that voted NAY. He could use their support back home.

Judd Gregg’s name wasn’t mentioned on the roll call because he’s in the U.S. Senate, not the House of Representatives, and it was the House that voted.

Still not sure if this roll call is for the right bill!

Why does it have that title?

There are quite a few different versions with different titles circulating.

The Senate GOP versions
The Senate Dem versions
The Paulson versions
The House GOP versions
The House Dem versions
Confused yet?
And the Joint Congressional versions.

[As slow as FR and the House website are, it is possible for errors to occur. What was live 5 minutes ago may be old history now.]

Almost immediately after Pelosi announced the defeat of the bill (the one I listed), the Senate was presenting her with another version for consideration.

Hey---your post is for the WRONG BILL!!!

HERE'S WHAT YOU GAVE US:

BILL TITLE: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide earnings assistance and tax relief to members of the uniformed services, volunteer firefighters, and Peace Corps volunteers, and for other purposes

Big mistake, huh?

Posters should know the difference between the house and the senate, not to mention who their congresscritter and Senators might be.

Great idea, wrong venue.

These jackasses get to vote!
I don't see how excluding them from FR will improve a thing.

At least here they can learn what ignorance is and there is hope of correcting it.
And the education is free, if we are patient about providing it.

My new Congressman, conservative Doug Lamborn of Colorado’s 5TH Distirct, voted against this socialist intervention by the Feds.

America thanks you, Doug!

My idiot congressman Mike Rogers of Alabama voted for the damned thing. I just got through to his local office and I was as polite as my anger could be. I told the lady that I took down my signs, I would urge all my family and friends to take down theirs, that I was retired military, I was a solid conservative, I KNEW what a Marxist and communist was, that I left my blood on the ground in Vietnam fighting Marxists and communists, that I would not vote for him if he continued to support this stinking bailout bill. I told them I would simply not vote at all for his position because I will never vote for a Marxists. I told them that I knew what a Marxists was and if they didn’t, they needed to get their selves better educated. The lady was polite and said she would pass my comments along. So, I had my say to the ass hole.

There's a HUGE opportunity for the GOP to get out in front on this and exploit the situation. The fact that Pelosi is on Fox *now* leads me to believe that they're on the cusp of losing that opportunity.

These "Republicans" have a special talent for grasping defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Why aren't the opponents on FOX? Where is the "other" view?

They should simply call a press conference, and show this video, over and over, 24/7.

That a*****e Bawney Fwank's head would explode, followed by Pelosi's.

Dems Defeating Reform in 2004

There is no argument, no question, that the abuses of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac caused the crisis, and here we have incontrovertible documentation that the @^$%$(#*#&^^%s blocked reform as far back as 2004...

Actually, 67% of Republicans (133) voted against the bill while 40% of Democrats (90) voted against it. There are many ways in which the Democrats can be blamed for the congressional inaction (such as their unwillingness to consider removing some of the federal restrictions that helped create the crisis, such as the increased mandates under the Community Reinvestment Act and SOX), but let’s not confuse the facts and give the Left ammunition to claim that we’re lying about what happened.

I’m liking Eric Cantor!!! He was calling Pelosi out, and standing strong.

Yeah, well, Cantor voted with Pelosi.

Well, I think we know which 90 democRATS are not full-fledged socialists now. Or at least which ones actually thought this through and/or listened to their constituency.

You are right. Gregg’s name is the Republican NV. HOW DARE HE pull a NV and he was the one pushing this thing down our throats. He needs to be the first to not be re-elected. What a whimp! Or, should I say RINO. RINO’s must GO!

Demonstrates how little you pay attention to Washington. First of all Judd Gregg is a Senator and secondly he's not from Nevada.

You’d be surprised. A lot of those RATs voted against the bill because it wasn’t socialist enough.

Why does it have that title?

Because that's the way Congress works, and passes laws that would fail if it had a separate bill of its own.

How do you think the "gay marriage" bill passed?

Yes, there was a misunderstanding regarding Gregg’s absense from the list (see my post #62), but the reference to “NV” by the poster did not refer to Nevada (which doesn’t have a Representative named Gregg) but to “Not Voting.”

Tancredo voted for it??? Wow...

I heard him on Mike Rosen this morning saying it was going to be a difficult vote.

As or MORE important is the two Udall's (D) that voted NO. Mark's internal polling must be disasterous. I hope Schaeffer can take advantage of it in the Senate race.

Regards,

TS
